It's the first time I've seen such normal french sentences in a manga btw. The way she said "Re" is a way for us to say "I'm back" or "hi again" in a familiar tone, I was so surprised lol
Is that a thing in the French language overall, or is it region-specific? I haven’t heard it in the (admittedly little) Canadian French I’ve listened to.

A choice between two beauties but one is a total weirdo. Werido every time, Runa is far too precious.

It is a thing in France and, if I had to guess, probably Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland.

I did not know that was a thing people said IRL though, I'm used to seeing it only in text and voice chats online. Maybe because I'm too old.

What she says is real French.
The expression “têtes de merlans frits” (“fried whiting fish faces”) is a real, idiomatic French insults.

That's a lot for a single chapter lol

Also cute teacher but do your job please lmao!!
yea i thought that as well cause it's probably the only time I've seen the word "re" in a manga and it feels weird to see a word i use in a media format from halfway across the world

The cut to the toilet actually destroyed me, I got up and starting screaming in laughter for at least a minute, bless whatever the flipping scissoring this Yuri Manga is.

Further proof the French are evil aliens, too /s

That... surprising good French ? The fact they used "Merland frits" as an insult make me believe they actually learned French at some point

Oh, so it’s typically text-only? That’s probably why I haven’t seen it (most of the French text I’ve read is pretty professional or academic).

Can confirm as a french canadian that we do use "re" also. This mostly a text thing tho. I still say "brb" "back" tho when i write in french with people i know but almost everyone i know also know english to some level so i often switch language without noticing.

Semi-related but i was kinda suprised how accurate the french was lol. Did someone also translate/fix the french in that part or this was like that in the raws? I'm just curious, won't suprised me if this was in the raws since this manga is so strange anyways lol. Thanks for the translation either way :)
