No it wouldn't, there is no excuse for what she did to him. She didn't speak because she was a coward. Even now she's delusional in thinking they can get back together somehow.
Remember that she called Ai a Homewrecker in Chapter 4 or 5 when she saw them skipping school.
This thing is so delulu that she doesnt even see her own cheating as wrong anymore.

Honestly, this excuse doesn't work on me. Any woman with two brain cells would know that Kondo is no good and would keep her distance. The least she could have done was break up with Eiji, and she didn't even have the decency to do that. If he tried that same shit with Ai, wouldn't work because she's not a whore.
Yeah, fair enough. I was basing my comment on chapter 1 where she was introduced to Kondo by a friend (who I think was Tachibana?) in hopes to "spice things up". She wasn't into it at first but Kondo was a real smooth talker.

Whatever happens afterwards was entirely on Miyuki though, I agree.

“I have no choice but to become a completely despicable woman”

yes you fucking do. Please, I thought you were rational. you had the wisdom to see your faults and to understand what happened, and to be able to blame yourself. You’re smarter than this mate.

On another note, Eiji’s mum is good for protecting her son, but when you try and push an apology away (ie, acknowledge it, you don’t have to accept it but at least allow her to apologise), bad shit happens cause they spiral and make increasingly irrational decisions. She’s a teenage girl, people make mistakes. I mean this was a pretty bad mistake ngl but you still use a mistake to teach people. With some people that requires heavy handling but with someone with this much will to better themselves it is better to accept now, and the harshness comes later.
The mother had every right to refuse entry as well as enact what's essentially a total blacklist ban to not only their home/business, but also their entire lives. She may have known about the cheating beforehand and made some assumptions, but it's totally logical of her to be on her own son's side after the truth was revealed.

I don't know how long it has been since the breakup, but with how distraught Eiji was before Ai came into his life, letting the ex see him now will only reopen wounds as well as make things even more complicated for Eiji, the ex, and even the mother for even allowing the latter in, hinting that the breakup was her own son's fault and that she's on the ex's side, and that is not what the mother should be doing here.

Also, while people should learn from their mistakes, sometimes that's not always the case, especially if they're going to make that 'mistake' again. There are times when they will need to get by reality with a rod, hard, multiple times, even, and have them hurtling to the very bottom before they finally realize how much they screwed up before deciding to better themselves.

Here, the ex wasn't apologizing to make amends and better herself. She was desperate to reclaim what she lost after she was caught. There was no guarantee she would ditch her scummy new bf to get back together with Eiji, especially after what we saw she did after running back to her home. Not confessing what happened with them to her own mother, oblivious to everything, before going into that self-deprecating monologue yet still running to her scummy bf further proves how little she feels guilty about everything, and is just addicted to the self-destruction that's ahead of her. She should not be around Eiji for that.

To me, this is the best chapter yet. We finally get a mother who is not about to sit there and let her son get played. Not only does she make it clear that she was already aware Miyuki was cheating on Eiji, but she also makes it very clear that she does not want her anywhere near her son. That is the icing on the cake.

The way she deliberately tells Miyuki off was perfect. We need to protect this mom at all costs. I personally vote her as the best character in the series so far.

As for Miyuki, this is clearly the beginning of her downfall, the official beginning. Once a parent no longer wants you around their child after what you did, no matter what happens going forward, you are never going to be forgiven. And she understands that. She betrayed the people who were closest to her.

Instead of choosing to change and become a better person, she chooses to be despicable. She would rather suffer in her insecurities than face the truth and work on herself. That right there is a terrible person.

The only thing that awaits people like Miyuki is continued suffering throughout the series, and honestly, I cannot wait to see more of it. I really cannot.

She cares more about her son then the whore who abandoned him. So either way for the sake of her child she would have not given a shit about the bitch
I´m agree. In this moment Mrs Aono has all the right to send Miyuki to the hell. If Miyuki wants to jump from a bridge, is not already Eiji mother´s problem or responsibility.
Curiously, Ai is more interesting. She has a scene when:
She impedes Miyuki attempts to suicide, but only because she knows this will affect Eiji and will leave Ai as the villain in the school. Ai practically says she herself will throw Miyuki to the abyss if make that would help Eiji.
Miyuki deserves it, of course, but I like how Ai is as ruthless as Tachibana, she is a perfect anti-heroine, she follows the rules and laws because is convenient for her, not because she really would be a compassive person as Eiji really does, even now.
Eiji doesn´t deserves it, but Ai deserves see Miyuki commiting suicide before her like one of those endings of School Days. Ai is not a good person and this is the reason why she is so cool -and also why she needs Eiji too, only he can avoid her becaming other Tachibana in the future-

I mean, even in any NTR work, the cheater girl usually at least asks for mercy for her betrayed boyfriend/husband to the NTR-guy. Miyuki was not able to do even that, when precisely convince Kondo leave in peace to Eiji after punching him would be a valid way to doesn´t burn her bridges with Eiji and recover him later, because he would believe Miyuki "saved" him from Kondo.
Something like kind of: "he never mistreated me because he is weak, you are strong, Kondo, you doesn´t need lost time with a weak boy like him, the eagle doesn´t catch flies"
Miyuki ironically made a favor to Eiji to allow Kondo and the others would mistreat Eiji so horribly, to force him to burn everything, "die" and reborn again, starting from zero.

I'm not saying Miyuki is a good person, but a part of me wants her to be redeemable still because she only got into this mess because she got tempted by the asshole senpai.
Considering what the novel is going it looks like she's trying to genuinely getting better but she still have a long way, it also doesn't help she's also picking the worst options to do that (like getting her self killed to make amendment)

I can’t wait to see if her mom hears about what she did, let alone the rumors that were spread. I want to see the results

Man, those are the cliches. But IRL cheating is doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling down on gaslighting the guy for being "a failure", "lacking", and/or "unworthy" of the cheater.
Also your suggestion for how Miyuki should have acted comes off as extremely manipulative rather than diplomatic. There is absolutely no way to be diplomatic if/when caught in a cheating affair. Eiji Mom is correct the only "diplomatic" way was through mutual breakup or growing apart due to different interests as people age. But Miyuki didn't realize her mistake was basically the equivalent of scorched earth (for her and Eiji, this event would leave a permanent scar).
Miyuki is simply a dumb teenager in this story spreading her legs carelessly like most teenagers in puberty. Does she deserve what will be coming to her? Yes, absolutely. But after that, she will need to grow out of it and learn to forgive herself and be a better person in life. Of course, she will have to live with 2nd guessing herself and all of her relationships moving forward.

There was absolutely no favor done here for Eiji
. Eiji did not burn anything at all nor is he starting from zero. Instead, what he finds are immeasurable treasures in the people and friends around him that he can rely on after being socially ravaged unjustly.

I highly recommend reading the translated WN at [REDACTED LINK]

I wish cheating was treated like that everywhere. Sadly I live in a country where being cheated on is cause to be made fun of, on top of being cheated you are the joke, awesome mentality.

Good on the mother, she did not know about SA accusations and still turned the girl away. At that point no apology would be enough.

right, I remember I ended reading most of the first arc of the novel a couple of months ago because waiting a month per chapter was torment. Satisfying to see the expressions illustrated. Looking forward to more. Probs gonna go reread the novel chapters I read and go further ahead while I wait for another batch of chapters I can binge. :02:

Moms are scary as fuck when they know something you didn't know they knew. That bitch deserves both mom's wrath for being a cheater.

sorry if you can look in ch.1 or 2, there's better explained, BUT if I remember right
MC's mom when she gets all of what happened she actually lawyered up and sues them both, that's how Miyuki's mom also learns what happens, and we also learn that Miyuki's dad cheated on her mom, so it hurts double for her as to why would her daughter knowing what cheating does would do something like that, then Miyuki's mom works herself death to end on the hospital where she pretty much disowns Miyuki ... I could get some thing a little wrong, but there's always nice people to explain it better.
hope it helps :bocchiwave:
Thanks… but I don’t get it
would it be for defamation/slander because I can’t really see someone hiring a lawyer for stupid teen drama like this
