Corporate America is so weird. Just got a $100 Amazon gift card out of the blue from a vendor one of our clients works with. Not complaining, but did have to spend about ten minutes checking to make sure it wasn't some kind of slick spam/phishing attempt before I cashed it in.

Yeah, a lot of it depends on the industry, and the particular part of the industry. This vendor is about 90% overhead on what they charge, so they can afford to throw money around like nothing. Meanwhile the vendors that actually do something worth their costs are grousing about their tiny margins and raising rates....

Funny thing is we've been pushing this client to make changes that would cut back or eliminate their business with this vendor, so if they'd taken our suggestion this probably wouldn't have come my way.
