I get the feeling that the demons there are what's left of the humans that made the wish on the Dungeon Core, they probably haven't eaten anything in a long time, sustained only by the "immortality" given to them by the wish they made.

Apparently the 'byaa it's so good' thing Thera was doing is a reference to びゃあ゛ぁ゛゛ぁうまひぃ゛ぃぃ゛ from サザエさん anime.

詫びサザエ apparently refers to how Splatoon players would jokingly demand compensation for server downs/etc, the panel even has a silhouette of the resource demanded. It's rare because it has never been handed out as an apology. I don't think there's any direct link to dogeza... but I'm also just googling around.
