Or you could do a better job and properly evaluate your adventures to better place them in the correct rank.

No matter that he is a new protagonist of an isekai and his leveling speed won't slow down till long after he has moved to more difficult hunting grounds.
He's gotta do the same amount of work as anyone else, I'm glad he's not getting the special treatment

If anything he's been overachieving when he gave them like a hundred herbs to count but I imagine stacking would earn more points versus Getting the same reward if he killed 20 orcs vs 1

From the conversational context, that just isn't the case. Otherwise there wouldn't be talk of rank fraud. Everyone irregardless of ability would have to work their way thrue the ranks if your statement was true, meaning rank fraud would only cover specific, egregious exploration of the system.

I can definitely get behind the concept of putting in regular effort to show that you can produce consistent results, and it goes without saying that any fictional adventurer guild should properly ensure they are training people for the jobs they will do. These stories just never produce a realistic response to a hypercompetent rookie. The staff shouldn't ignore him or just hand him free rankups (which is what we usually see, one of the two.) They should be identifying what he needs to prove the next rankup so it CAN be expedited and still be justified.

"The system can't be wrong, it's your fault for not working hard enough" Mangaka-sama, please stop putting the Japanese business philosophy in this lovely little manga of yours 😭

They say it's rank fraud, but immediately say it's not normally that way. Rank fraud is usually faking a higher rank rather than a lower one. He's technically committing rank fraud but it doesn't endanger him or anyone else so they don't care too much

While they are laughing it off, probably because it's 'reverse' i find it weird that it's a recurring theme in manga that you are obligated to rank up if you are strong.

Like, if I just want to make a living and can mill through orcs, why should I be obligated to go on dragon slaying expeditions.
Especially when the dragons are minding their own business but that's a different matter.

That said I always appreciate it when they don't arbitrarily promote strong people.
Not only does that potentially fill the ranks with problematic people if that's the only criteria but also the fact Guild is a business and if a strong adventurer only does one quest a month, why give them a ton of benefits as we often see instead of the person who does at least 6 quests a week and brings in steady revenue.

I just saw it as "Even though you've proven yourself to be stronger than your current rank, you still have to go through the process of doing enough quests/clearing the exam/trial/minimum hours in the rank/etc."
Exactly! The rank is not a measure of your strength alone, but rather a measure of the guild's trust in your ability to successfully complete quests: it also factors the ability to work with other adventurers, relate with clients, willingness to take specific request when needed, etc...

is it over? the official raws page lists ch 11 as the last published chapter, in january 2025 if I’m not mistaken
May 2025, actually, but it's strange: there's is also a second volume for sales, so chapters should go up to ch 15-16, if the mangadex division is accurate. In addition, volume 2 illustrations include characters we haven't seen yet.
On the other hand, the second volume was published before ch 11...
