He's at the edge of being a psychopath, as common folk understand that term. Or more precisely, he's a bizarre mixture of genius, empathetic, and psychopathic

He knows emotions. He feels them, he values them. He can easily connect with others, and resonate with them

But he can also resonate with maliciousness, arrogance, cruelty, mania and madness.

It's hard to describe. So I'll have to use a personal anecdote.

I love knowledge. Comprehension, understanding, learning. Those are good, as normal people will say.

But I love learning so much, that I will and have learned things that are not 'good'. Heinous, disgusting, immoral knowledge. And I learned it all the same. Because it's knowledge. It's how I "comprehend" the world, and how I prepare for it.

MC is the same, but with the minds and souls of others.
And frankly, I prefer my autistic hunger for knowledge, annoying as it can be.

Warping your soul on a dime is useful, practical, effective, and ultimately destructive on yourself. Warping my mind for knowledge already sucked. Doing it to your soul must be horrible

I mean if someone read me like a book and upon me taunting them with my character flaws they gave me a direct and seemingly sincere positive affirmation, I'd be kinda swooned too.

MC is probably the first and the most impactful person there could be to say "you can be better" after all they went through

Even if she didn't care about the idea of being "accepted" or not having her violent urges that make living in a society difficult, just the idea of being acknowledged and trusted by someone alone is something really pleasant, I assume especially if it is after a negative experience like having kidnapped them and almost murdering them
