It is so funny how people jump in on the ideas of "Mangadex turn corpo" because of this incident AND the Twitter article (their first one article mind you) that isn't officially from Mangadex.

Yes, they may fumble hard this one. Doesn't mean spreading misinformation and false rumor doing any good for the situation. The internet are becoming more strict day by day with the data collecting, glorified as "age verification" so things like this might happened more frequent than you might think

Dude have you seen the way they've been talking in this thread and elsewhere? How they have suddenly yoinked up all this stuff about copyright? Honestly, I can keep going but anyone with eyes can see what's on the horizon. It's not "misinformation" or "rumours", we can literally see what they've done, what they're doing, and make predictions based on the evidence of our eyes.

I did say it in this thread before, deleting manga without prior notice to uploader is bad, removing metadata, update the rules without notifying user AND Admin out of all people calling your user pdf are all unforgivable

However, the legal aspect could be understandable, mostly because UK and other started to enforce those “for children” stuff.

You either remove few one or have the whole site taken down and the company behind (I forget the name) are the one doing the check from what I understanding.

I will eat my word and leave if they turn corpo

They will never answer either of these questions. Which is particularly dumb for the titles removed.

Instead what will happen is more and more titles and all of their chapters that have been on Mangadex for years now will continue to be removed silently. And that promise to restore titles removed to preserve metadata will never happen.

of course when you go corpo you dont wanna let anyone know what you did before

Mods, at this point can we have the thread renamed 'Conspiracy Theories: Easier than Facts'? :meguu:
Wouldn't as big of a problem if there was communication and transparency.

As long as there is neither we will continue to be accused of spreading misinformation and being friends with Jeffrey when trying to guess what is happening

They are LITERALLY registered as a company now, there is NO reason for a piracy website to do that unless they're planning to go "legit."

It's not helped by the people that actively come here from the outside to spread misinformation.

Thinking about it, what about series like Witches Of Adamas? By your definition that series I worked on would be wiped off of MD...
There's a pornographic series that's wayyy more popular than Stray Cat Girl that's explicitly between highschoolers that's still up and apparently unthreatened. I don't know if it's double standards or just poor moderation, but either way it's pretty funny.

Mocked as being too conspiracypilled when the admin won't even explain the reason.

"B-but the law-" you run a goddamn piracy site.

I still don't get what's the point of being secretive about the deleted manga list. It's not like the servers will explode the moment they share it anyway.

NO Tsukihime and FSN are not from the same universe.
Tsukhime have very weak Human Order> Higher Mysticism > no Heroic spirit summon> Dead aspotles with their RM running around.
FSN have very strong Human Order> Dante burned Roa > No order of 27 dead aspotle.
Late seeing this since I'm really not an active forum person, but I have to point out a number of things. Many characters/entities and concepts in both of these exist because they are linked. Others include Mahoutsukai no Yoru, Kara no Kyoukai, Prisma Illya and even Notes. Events in these series occur at different times, something that was already stated by another user. Sometimes branching paths in one lead into possible futures that were already hinted at in older works which all in all, is still in the Nasuverse. The following will be lengthy and I will spoiler it out of consideration for people that might have interest yet have not yet plunged into Type-Moon's works to avoid ruining it for them, even if some of this stuff has been out there for over a decade. I'm aware of newer details that sprung up from Tsukihime Remake and Melty Blood Type Lumina and fine with anyone that has such knowledge adding onto this if there are any further parallels (I'm aware of Fate Servants being in MBTL for instance, but not the circumstances of their appearance).

I won't be going over everything but here's most of what is present in multiple series: the Church and their Executors, various types of undead, The Mages Association, Threats to Humanity (such as the Types and influence of Beast Classes), sealing designations, Reality Marbles, true magic, magecraft, mana, ether, scriptures, leylines, familiars, spirits, demons and Mystic Eyes.

Now I'll go over some direct links. Kischuwa Zelretch Schweinorg is like a grandfather to Arcueid, is capable of observing and interacting with other worlds and is the source of jewel magecraft. He started that and had two families successfully inheriting his legacy, the Tohsakas and the Edelfelts. He personally congratulated Rin on recreating his Jewel Sword Zelretch, something that many others failed to do. Zelretch also happens to be a Dead Apostle, having had his blood drained by Crimson Moon when he fought it long ago.

The Church is often mentioned to have a strained relationship with the Mages Association but cooperates under certain conditions officially and privately, usually when dealing with the supernatural and organizing the Holy Grail Wars. Ciel is one of the most prominent members that we know aside from Yorokobe-san, and she gifted EMIYA those red pieces of his outfit in recognition of his heroic feats (it is a holy raiment, just like Caren Ortensia's shroud).

The Aozakis are widely renown all around and have influence in multiple series, more specifically two sisters. Aoko being the main heroine of Mahoutsukai no Yoru is the inheritor of the Fifth magic and Tohno Shiki's savior in Tsukihime. Touko is the dollmaking prodigy who provides work for Ryougi Shiki while remaining in hiding from the Mages Association in Kara no Kyoukai. Both sisters are referenced together at the restaurant that Tohno-kun and Arihiko eat at due to having records there for how many bowls of food eaten, with Aoko having the top score. Touko is also the person who provided Emiya Shirou with his replacement body after he lost his original one since she's able to make fully functional bodyparts. She, along with Natalia and later Emiya Kiritsugu, smoke the same rare brand of cigarettes.

Alchemy has its place in many series as well. Sion Eltnam Atlasia is part of Tsukihime and Melty Blood while her people in Atlas have involvement in Fate too due to their research and heavy contributions to the Mages Association while still being their own thing.

Primate Murder being a pure white dog that specializes in killing humans is Altrouge Brunestud's pet in the Tsukihime side of things, is acknowledged as being better at its job than Angra Mainyu in Fate and is known by another name elsewhere. The Forrest of Einnashe exists and has been a plague to others in Tsukihime and Fate.

Leylines are valuable for serving as catalysts to one's magecraft, and many important locations are situated on them. Shrines, labs, and the homes of the wealthy with otherworldly ties are a few of them. Being on or near them helps greatly when summoning servants for a grail war in Fate and some also exist in the land that the Tohno clan owns, which is part of the reason that control over it is sought out.

Reality Marbles are miracles that are manifestations of one's power that vary in strength but often have catastrophic results when invoked due to how they affect one's surroundings. True Ancestors are capable of using them, as are Dead Apostle Ancestors in Tsukihime. Some mages and servants are also able to do this in Fate. Araya Souren, creates something similar in Kara no Kyoukai through his bounded field in pursuit of the Root. There is a lot more that I could say, but this isn't really the place for it I suppose lol.

Got back to the forums to delete my account, that said I felt like I should apologize to the forum dwellers in this trying time when they had to deal with people outside their friend group, I genuinely though this whole thing was a manga piracy website and did not realize it was actually just you guys' playhouse. I honestly apologize for being a "tourist" in this site I was in from literal day 2 lmao

So this whole thing got my panties in a bunch and I'm hoping whining about this one last time will get it out of my system (lol) so

1) About EN statement... I'm not a lawyer but I would absolutely love to know how that whole "...UGC platform and upholds applicable law, including copyright law." plays out, specifically how can you argue you should be afforded safe harbor provisions when you are aware most of your "UGC" is copyright infringement, the staff has historically, don't know nor care, if they still do; openly engaged in copyright infringement and you have a ton of instances of minimum required compliance and just a clear pattern of bad faith when enforcing copyright. Again not a lawyer but I think someone could look at all that and see a piracy website trying to do the bare minimum to game a law and relying on rights holders being too distant and uninterested to actually do anything about it.

2) I still think applying rule 3.1.1 is absurd for manga, now you will correctly argue that who the fuck cares about my opinion the issue is the law, I would argue back that's why you shouldn't have set shop up in the UK you donkeys, why are you in an anglo country, are you stupid? I'm sorry, but what are you doing?
How did this happen?
The fact that you put yourself in this situation is honestly my biggest issue. I have never used this site for hentai (if you do, what are you doing? Use a site with a tag system that's designed for hentai, you moron) but I do fear this overreach will expand to other series like Ayame 14, MahoAko, Wagayuri, fuck why not Oyasumi Punpun, mc loses his cherry in what? middle~high school to his aunt.
Do any of those series infringe your rules? Which ones? If so, how? The fact you refuse to answer these questions tells me you have contempt for us, which I mean, yeah, no I get it, I read a couple pages of this trashfire but still, I see you.

3) The community response has been ass. This whole thread of whining, the hub for news for this shitshow, was left to rot for weeks (?) rather than give an effective response, and yeah guys we tourists suck ass but you should have closed this way sooner because half of this thread is the "real community" which is like four guys with official looking badges who basically took it upon themselves to be the site's face for this PR disaster and their message is a pretty clear fuck off; which as I said at the top, fair enough I have never contributed to this place so no big loss there. I do wonder how this played out with more important demos thought.

So, yeah I'm out! Again! This time for real!
PLEASE DELETE MY FUCKING ACCOUNT ALREADY, HOLY SHIT.

Also, to those who read my comment that told you to get yourself banned and got yourself banned please do post about it, that's funny as shit.

At this point, you can create a much more amusing and yet sadly accurate statement if you substitute every instance of "misinformation" and "conspiracy theories" with "spoilers" - this is because it's leaking you reality about six months in advance of the official confirmation.
