Even the perverts come in more than one flavor I noticed. Mostly between the ones (often also queer) who are happy to own it and the others (often blackpilled) calling it "gooning" and talking about it with a lot of shame. Yandere isn't the same as super obsessive. There needs to be an actual, serious danger element. We're talking like Stephen King's "Misery" level. Stalking, threatening, wanting to own the target of their obsession. I won't deny the possibility of an escalation to that degree, we can't predict the future but it'd be a pretty severe tonal shift.
Also dang, accusing me of having an nerve struck but then going on to labeling me obnoxious + making ageist aspersions. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what an adult does with their time. One of the coolest things about being an adult is that you no longer have much need of shame.

I'm 100% proud of my presence on this forum, repping for the larger queer/neurodivergent community. I'm not gonna pretend it's making some kind of serious difference in the grand scheme of things, but I've gotten DMs and such from people who just feel a little bit safer here because I push back on transphobes and the like. That makes it worth it to me, but as a fellow adult (presumably) it's just as much your purview to draw your own conclusions.

That said, clearly there was a misunderstanding here. If the "tourist" thing was meant to be a general observation and you didn't quote reply me I promise I would've left you totally alone. But since you did light up my notifications, I don't think it was unreasonable to assume you were directing the slight specifically at me. But in a generalized, plausibly deniable (and thus less likely to be moderated) way. I tend to bite back pretty hard when I think someone is trying to start something with me. But if that wasn't your intent at all then I sincerely apologize. I actually do agree with your sentiment more generally, having encountered a number of hateful tourists on this forum who want to intimidate or drive out queer manga fans. Many of whom were reading stuff like Utena or Ranma long before a lot of them were even born. And you're right, you can usually tell the tourists right away.

I’m not saying she’s 100% yandere right now, but I think she shows some of the symptoms, and it might gradually develop throughout the story. I’ve seen the oshi stan archetype numerous times. That said, I might be reading too much into it, and this could just be a different approach to writing Shion.

I love reading gender bending manga because for some reason people always say it's trans coded even though it is actually the character's sex being changed, often against their will, and then they end up conforming to their new sex instead of keeping the gender they identify as.

Maybe I'm annoyed but this happens every single time it's absurd. The idea behind gender is that it's different from sex and all these stories have them being the same and instead of disliking it because of that, these people ignore their own ideology and claim it's a trans story.

Most gender bending stories aren't trans, hell some are technically anti trans, if you want actual trans stories they are out there. Fire Punch is probably a favorite of mine though you don't find out that one of the characters is trans until later.

Anyways sorry for the rant those people who are just enjoying the story, this is something that has been building for awhile because the hypocrisy annoys me.

As for this chapter, it's pretty good. I am enjoying that the gyaru is slowly recognizing the MC as the Magical Girl even while he is male.

Just want to say I actually totally agree with what you're saying, this bit in particular. I can absolutely see why that's annoying from the outside. Though true trans magical wish fulfillment stories (as opposed to just portraying trans people) are surprisingly uncommon in the broader manga space, even in the subgenre of gender bender. So trans people in the MD community sometimes latch on to sucking the moisture from under a camel's foot and go "salvation! an oasis!". And you're probably like "... no, that's a camel's foot". Just I feel more pathos than annoyance when I see that sorta thing. But man, when an actual oasis is found... phew no feeling quite like it.

For the record, I personally don't think Ayame's gender identity is particularly important to this story. He doesn't strike me as super invested in his identity either way. (loneliness can do that to you) It might be relevant to exploring Shion's sexual orientation, though, if the story goes in that direction.

I do get it, it just annoys me since I have seen way to many people claim something is trans rep when it's not and if it was it would be terrible rep, (characters that were forcibly castrated for example is surprising common).

But yeah I also agree that Ayame doesn't really care, seems he just sees it as a way to help people and that's it. Like he's more concerned about disillusioning his fans than any dysphoria, definitely feels more of a way to see Shion's perception of it like you said.
