I don't remember what chapter that was so I can't check, but in 31, she definitely couldn't see it. She could infer information about it from its effect on nearby spirits, but had to rely on Yuria to actually see it and tell her how it looks. Maybe she was doing something similar in the chapter you referenced? 🤷‍♂️

Turns out I'm misremembering. It was chap. 10 and Miko wasn't around for that scene.

That old man demon miko sees and creepy old lady dad sees is the same one, thats just one of its abilities/properties. Everyone sees it differently for some reason, which makes it harder to research. It also apparently doesnt want you looking into it, its why Romm almost dies

The parents' love story in 1 chapter is better than 100+ chapters of most manga I've read.

What's the timeframe for these flashbacks? I assumed the last time that it was probably the early 1990s but those flip phones look like they're from the mid-2000s, which I'm aware was already two decades ago but that still does not seem like enough time for the father to go from looking like a "shouta" to looking middle-aged (plus, I think he's supposed to have been already a ghost for at least a year or so).

She also mistook a ghost kid holding a balloon before it "revealed" itself. I agree that it's a higher ranked spirit, but I think the "creepy uncle" appearance is just a lure to trick people with "the sight" into interacting with it.

My theory for a while is that spirits operate at different layers and people with "the sight" can see different layers at difference clarities. Our girl can see it just enough to notice it and is likely it's ideal prey. Dad can see the next layer and can tell it's something sus. Rom seems to be able to see the deepest and can't actually hide that he's aware of it. On the other hand, mini mushroom can only seem to see the "life force" & "Tiny Uncle" layers

Again, I disagree. Her dad sees it as a regular scary ghost. But Miko sees the scythe. It means she sees its real nature as a shinigami. Her dad can't see that but she can.
