This is the sad reality of many titles (not only VNs), the author creates a single model and adds variations for every girl. Others create a few amount of characters and repeat them in every work they do.

It's becoming more and more prevalent with newer visual novels sadly. The characters look all so generic..

..I don't think so? At least not on the Japanese side of visual novels. Visual novels in the West are its own can of worms though.
