@fungifordinner yes, it's all about winning in the gatchapon, strong cards with five stars and level 50 = win. Extra points the more stars your uma has, but it's not as important (and, unless you pay, you won't have all the horses like... ever). Also, nice horse pick!

I mean, yeah, it’s much easier with SSR cards, but when I mentioned race bonus, this is what I meant:

In the new scenario, Trackblazer, you gain a lot of stats and skills just from racing, so you can build strong Umas even without many SSR cards, except for long-distance races, which are hell on earth and usually require SSR cards. You’ll still need some SR cards, though. For example, take a look at this deck with 55 race bonus:

The Marvelous Sunday SSR was given for free during an event.

You don’t need to run Medium races with Bakushin. You can build a strong one just by sticking to Mile and Sprint races, and she only needs a single Mile spark to reach Mile A.

That said, you’ll still want a deck with at least 50 race bonus, which can be hard to achieve if you don’t have the right cards.

I try, but the lack of stat bonuses from gaining epithets makes the 2nd half of the scenario difficult. I know I have to only get 300pts but I don't want Bakushin to be an average Uma in Team Trials

To add to Litreara's advice, always stock on energy items, get those Empowering megaphones (60% bonus for 2 turns) if you can, Speed Ankle weights and then go all out on the summer camps. Buy the whistles too, they're cheap and rerolls are important in case your cards aren't cooperating with you on the summer camps.
Use hammers often, and save the gold ones for the Twinkle Star finales (Use all 3 in the final races)

Oh… so after the debut race, you should focus on racing. Only train if it’s a really good training turn. Each race gives around 40 stats, so you should only train if the stat gain is about that much. If I’m running Bakushin, my Junior year would look something like this:

It’s kind of tricky to build bond while racing this much, but it’s doable, and the races are worth it. It’s fine if you reach the first summer with some cards not at max bond.

Yeah, you almost never train. You really only train during summer because of the stat bonus. It’s interesting, but it also requires more brainpower, and the runs take too long. So if you’re trying to spam runs for the CMs, it’s a pain. I’m not really a fan of this scenario.

I mean, you can, if you're aiming for epithets. I think. I usually spend mine for bond-raising, so I can hopefully get 80+ speed in summer camps. My Junior year always look empty except for Hanshin J.F and Hopeful Stakes. Other than that, I aim for rival races for bonus stats or skill hints.

My current CM lineup:

• Golshi kind of lacks stamina and power. She also doesn’t have max speed, but Long S helps make up for it. I’m thinking about trying to build a better one, but it’s such a pain since you need Mile sparks, which makes getting Long S harder. She also burns through a lot of clocks because she’s an End Closer.
  
  
• Fatty also lacks some stamina and power. I wanted to run Daiwa Scarlet, but I keep getting bad RNG while trying to build her. I got this Fatty in one run, so I’m sticking with her.
  
  
• Brokie is the bane of my existence. Because she has Mile E, even with 9-star Mile sparks she only reaches Mile B, and getting Long S on her is just as hard as with Golshi. Since she’s also an End Closer, she loses a lot of Mile races and burns even more clocks than Golshi. This is the best one I’ve got, but she doesn’t have Long S. I’m trying to build a better one, but it’s really frustrating.

Overall, I’m okay with this team. It could be better, but I think I can make it to the Group A finals.

Pisces Cup (CM11) Report, Part 1: Gold Ship’s Dominance Could Bore Fans

First off, I got a slightly faster Brokie:

Despite the lower rating, she’s actually faster, mostly because she has Long S.

Round one - Unexpected dominance

Here’s the result of round one:

87.5% win rate… I honestly wasn’t expecting my team to be this dominant. It’s the first time I’ve had a win rate this high; the closest to this one was in the Libra Cup (CM5), which coincidentally was also a Long CM, but there I got around 70%.

As for individual results, I wasn’t expecting Golshi to be this strong… she’s just too strong in Long CMs. As for Fatty, I was expecting her to struggle because she’s a Pace Chaser, but despite the low win rate, a bunch of her losses were to either my Golshi or my Brokie, so if it weren’t for that, her win rate would’ve been higher.

Round two – Still dominant

Here’s the result of round two:

Win rate dropped a bit to 82.6%, but that’s expected since you’re supposed to face stronger opponents in round two. Still, it’s a pretty high win rate.

With such a strong performance, this is the first CM where I didn’t feel the need to replace any Uma between rounds and kept the same team.

With this unexpectedly strong performance, I’m cautiously hoping for a victory in tomorrow’s final round, but you never know.

Pisces Cup (CM11) Report, Part 2: Gold Ship dominated this CM, but Tamano Cross, a.k.a. Brokie, secured the victory in the end!

Quite happy with the result. I feel like Long CMs are the easiest to win because they’re the hardest to train for, and most people don’t have the patience to do it properly. Trackblazer makes it even harder, since good Long UMAs tend to have poor Mile aptitude, so they lose races and burn through a lot of clocks.

Also really happy that Brokie won, since I had to go to pity to get her… it’s like she’s paying back the investment I put into her. She won me 2.5k Carats, but I spent 30k, so she still owes me 27.5k… Brokie.

Next CM is probably going to be kind of boring. Everyone and their mother is going to run Christmas Oguri with two Dominator debuffers. I’m trying to get usable parents, but RNG isn’t on my side so far.
