a while back, my lil' bro's laptop monitor literally burned out due to him leaving it on for 6 consecutive months to farm a game on Roblox

we didn't know what to do; getting a new monitor installed would've cost too much to be worth it, and shelling out the money for a new laptop was impossible

that was, until I had the brilliant suggestion of plugging an HDMI cable from his laptop to a TV screen

because only his monitor died out and not the rest of the components, the laptop could still power on, but the monitor just didn't want to show anything

so, I grabbed a spare HDMI cable, tried it out, and it worked wonders

adjusting the resolution took some time, and he couldn't get used to his new lifestyle then, but now, he's perfectly capable of using it

I'd share his setup, but I don't wanna reveal his face

1. Actual keyboard (not the clunky laptop membrane)
2. (If no mice) Purchase one (red = speed /jk)
3. The rest of the components

I mean, he already fulfilled steps 1 and 2 even before the monitor died, so all he has to do is to just buy a pre-built PC

that, or fish for components and watch tutorials, but eh
