Just to add, it isn't just the point related to "medieval era".THIS, this is what is happening in this chapter, it feels like many of you guys have forget how bad it was to live in medieval era where nobles are gods to tyrant toward peasants.
MC makes a correct choice to live good for another day, than taking the first step to DOOM. I don't know why many hates this chapter when its being logical and not too much of BS fantasy love conquers all.
Even in real modern life, people of high society rarely marry those of lower economic level, and even if they do marry, there are penalties to pay.
I mean, just few years back, Princess of the Japanese imperial family married a Commoner man (if i remember right, first time in history of the Imperial Family), and had to give up her title, and is now also considered as a Commoner.
In the first place, she was only able to marry her college sweetheart, because of modern norms, but she still lost her title and position because of marrying someone of lower status.
And in some countries, such notions are outright not allowed. Like in the Korean Upper Class families, aka., the Chaebol. None of the family members are normally allowed to marry anyone of the lower economic class, and are only allowed to marry someone from another Chaebol family or of higher economic or political position.
As for the Hate, people are giving this chapter, its probably because it strongly has an NTR notion, specifically Netorare.
