Is this the first time Alpha's signal got jammed? I think the loli had difficulty connecting with Katsuya, so their synchronisation isn't that good. Whatever technology they're using, it doesn't seem to affected by the technology of the current world.

Not "Awright, I can absolutely do this!" so much as "I will absolutely do this even if I have to chew through with my teeth after my arms melt off, just so I can partially atone for how cosmically bad I fucked up before I die," because that's just how indebted he feels to Alpha & how much importance he places on paying that debt
like the "determination is my end of the bargain" thing isn't just a motivational thing, he views it as seriously as owing money or anything else to someone (and owing anything to anyone else as a slum rat in this world basically means they own you)

that's sounds ok for webtoon/manhwa (idk tho, never really read them).
but isn't that something weird to say about manga, japanese comic, book format, which, a double page spread is a normal and an expected thing?
the pages is just alright in wide strip "right to left" (read from the right, which is how a manga are supposed to be read)

Alpha's signal got weakened a few times before, but completely shutting off is the first. Current tech doesn't hinder her, it's mainly the silver fog enveloping old world ruins that affected her the most. The snake's inner side probably has similar properties.
Honestly, it feels like she got jammed every two steps I have to wonder why she has not prepared a counter-measure for those events.

Sure for double spreads is a problem, but most manga chapters you read from right to left, top to bottom, factually a single page being read on a strip is a more natural way to read manga.
