Well, the damage’s already been done lmao. People will probably avoid my contests if they’re in the know… or not because I had this exact same fear during that thread thing that happened a while ago. I thought people would say “You are an egotistical, manipulative, slimy piece of shit. The only reason you ‘want’ to be here is to use us as your plaything, and whenever you’re rightfully confronted, you only thing you think of how to ‘please the crowd’. It’s too late to shed your crocodile tears, or try to please us with some half-assed apologies. Get the fuck out of our community, scum.” or something like that I dunno. No one actually cares about cheating in a game if it's fun and accessible. Just ask @Bartolumiu about the Ministy vs Resistance gacha game.

It's simply that the Culling Game was too convoluted for most people except sweats.

as others have said, the concept is actually pretty interesting. i think the main thing you have to do is make the rules as explicit as possible and stick to them.

some suggestions for a future culling game:
-keep it to one thread (the CCT ideally)
-(maybe) change point tallying / elimination to 48 hours instead of 24. 24 is a bit too often imo
-tally points according to very specific guidelines (e.g., "a message posted between April [14] at [12PM] and April [16] at [12PM] must have [5]+ reactions as of April [16] at [12PM] to qualify for points added. reactions added after April [16] at [12PM] will not be counted"
-you could possibly also count each 24 or 48 hour 'period' a full 24 hours after it ends to allow time for reactions on posts that were made near the end of the period (like if a period ends on April 16 at 12PM, count reactions for that period on April 17 at 12PM, and make the 'reaction cutoff' at April 17 at 12PM ("reaction cutoff" meaning any reactions after April 17 12PM will not count towards points for the period))
-make rules easier to add (25 points instead of 50 maybe?) and be good at determining what a creative but simple rule is.
-good rules should be like rules 1, 2, 6, 10. (actually balance rule 1 since it is a bit OP.)
-rules should be easy to understand but not open to interpretation. make an autistically-detailed version of a rule that explains how it interacts with the game's current ruleset, but allow it to be summarized in 1-3 sentences.
-the goal for adding rules should be just that: to add onto the existing list of rules without interfering too much with one another. i personally think that it's fun to have a 'binding vow'-type approach to rulemaking so we can all larp as Sukuna spamming binding vows. (i.e., rules have limits to their scopes to balance. an example would be "a roland can transfer points to another roland once per day, but must spend 10 points to do so").

I would suggest that requiring much manual counting at all is a bad idea - this is part of why the contests use polls, so everyone can see the results. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
