Well. He's very young, still. And he still trusts the Japanese authorities, as well as his teachers.
What he should do is tell the Japanese that he absolutely will not hand over magic tech to them. If one "magic world" ruler did bad things with the tech, why would he think that there are no people in our world who would misuse it?
Same with both his classmates and his teachers.
He should just tell them they have to carry the burden of living themselves.
(And then maybe tell the Volzard ruler that he is willing to fund some legal help/support classmates/teachers who need seed money to get on their feet.)
He definitely is not obliged to listen to some spoiled people who think they are entitled to whatever they think is shiny.
As for transfering people back to Japan? That tech should be guarded very closely, to avoid the risk of more abductions, whether they are made by Japan/our world or the "magic world".
At this time, he's being quite naive.

Yeah, I feel like the late stage of this story is Kokubun realising he in fact can decide what happens between both world's. If he had any strong will or desire this story would be an edgelord fantasy or a hero fantasy. The only reason people even maintain the extent of autonomy they do is because Kokubun is Atlas holding up a lot of liberties.

The general nature of most of the other leaders in isekai land and the notorious corruption of real world governments in these stories may make him more jaded. Him being referred to as the demon king isn't very subtle in this regard either. His wive's should ground him but if any of them get hurt it more or less guarantees he's going full demon king.

Modern countries would have hard time not using the summoning to bring in immigrants for cheap labor

I still don’t really understand why he’s loyal to this town. Wasn’t it only like a week ago that he was drugged and almost tricked into a fait accompli?

He’s being used by this town overtly and he knows it. I just don’t understand why he is fearless of monsters but a couple weak adults humans can intimidate him into doing what they want.

If there’s women he cares about that doesn’t mean he has to live with them here. It also doesn’t mean he can’t just take over this town or entire territory if he wants.

That’s the thing. His life experience should have taught him not to trust like this.

None of these people actually appreciate what he’s done for them or have properly recognized how badly they have failed (and in some cases betrayed) Kento. Maybe that’s why it feels off? He should be going be cutting ties with the lot of them.

Thanks for the scanlation. Good job.

Here we encounter two important people:

The big bad! This cunning old man runs a criminal syndicate, and he has been plotting to murder all the princes and claim the throne via forcing Camilla to marry him. He is the one behind poisoning Prince DIethelm (he seduced Camilla's mom into delivering the poison. Yes, he is banging her mom).
is not only a stand up guy, but he will become Kento's DOUBLE brother-in-law: Kento marries Gregory's sister, and Gregory marries Beatrice's older sister Angelica. The latter happens late in the web novels because the Emperor of Barshania realizes that Kento is closer to the Volzard family than his birth family, and since Kento basically (unofficially) rules over Reisenburg and Lanshelt at that point, Barshania's Emperor wants to be extra sure Kento is on his side.

I would say 'changes from the web novel', but this is really bringing back things from the web novel that weren't adapted before.
  • Donovan always had a thing for tea, it was a 'slice of life' element to his previous meetings with Kento.
  • The Flamehound adventurers? They were introduced earlier in an arc cut from the original story. The son of the Orlando store owner (the boy with a crush on Beatrice) sent them to spread rumors about Kento. Meisa-chan confronted them and then Kento saved her from being kicked by one. Kento tied a ribbon around the Flamehound leader's dick in the night, and left a note saying next time, he'd chop it off.

Dragging in goblins as slaves to get killed by the dungeon feels a bit like a war crime to me

Well for one, this is literally the nicest place he's ever been. His home life in japan was shitty and the first country he was summoned to tried to enslave and kill him. Not saying other places wouldn't treat him better, but from his pov, this is a practically a utopia

As for why he still listens to adults, it's because he wants to get along with them and live in peace. He's not interested in ruling directly, and if he doesn't follow the bare minimum of etiquette, things will get awkward for everyone, and trust will break down. Plus, he's a kid. Kinda hard to move past the listening to adults stage all at once

OK, so Kento is working on how to get them back to Japan, dealin with Camilla and Lastock, dealing with a succession war, investigating a marquis and another country...and now he has to investigate a dungeon

I know he's strong and has a lot of strong familiars, but damn let the man get a day off lol
