Big fan of where this is going. Inami continuously teetering on the edge only to finally make a snap decision--only to regret it to the core.

I suspect Ai is "fine"--insofar as she is not dead, but Inami shutting her down likely sent her spiraling harder than Kaede's revealing her instability did. I suspect Inami will go running to Okayama, though it'll be a needle in a haystack situation from there. But she's desperate enough to do it, and impulsive enough to simply drop her life once again and flee in Ai's direction.

Not really expecting a "happy" ending, but I am curious to see who walks out of this still breathing. Inami saving Ai could be pulled off--whether it's warranted, is up for debate, as a truly tragic ending would be neat to see. But I suspect we are nearing the final act, or thereabouts.

Uh everyone let's hold hands....

More than one person here needs serious therapy (more like 90% of the characters) they all seem so broken on their own ways but I really do wonder how the author is going to move forward with this because all I see right now is: someone detached, some trying to save someone that doesn't want to be saved, and someone that can't let go.

Looking forward to the next chapter this series is in a limbo for me

Kon really needs to let go of Ai i swear. She has been done so dirty by her it's insane. I have a feeling that she will go chase her blindly but at this point, does she really deserve it? I was really rooting for Kon and Ai but Ai just keeps hurting Kon and it just makes me sad.

Tbh, i still think only Kaede is completely insane here. But yeh, Inami and Ai do need some therapy. Tho Ai probably needs to actually heal from her past and more stability in her life to feel at peace and Inami being so unstable now doesnt help.
I rather think Inami "snap" wouldnt drive Ai back to Kaede, since if it did it would just make clear of how shallow things were between them. Yet, if Kaede goes to Okinawa to "save" Ai it would be just another time Inami forces Ai to chose her. That aint gonna make for a good ending no matter how it plays out.
Now, if this turn of events is to make the story repeat itself with now Inami entering the search of the missing Ai it would so much worst.
Personally, the only ending i expect now to save the story a lil, would be that while Inami is fretting about what to do Ai shows up back home because she left Kaede since Inami is more important to her, while possibly leading Kaede husband to where she was. Done, happy ending. Not a very promising future whit how they are, but better then other alternatives.

I have to agree with the other commenters here that Kon successfully chasing down Ai can't end well. Kon has done everything she possibly could, and at this point, if she really found Ai and brought her back, nothing would be resolved. Kon would have to keep living her life in constant fear that Ai is going to leave again, and Ai likely won't be able to move on properly from Kaede unless it's her choice. If this is to have a happy ending, or at least not a tragic one, then Ai needs to resolve her issues herself and choose Kon on her own.

Best thing for Kon is staying put and simply attempting to move on with her life.

If Ai figures herself out and moves beyond Kaede (and I think that's currently a big if), and she seeks out Kon again, Kon can make the call if she feels she can let Ai back in. But it'd be Kon's call, 100%.

That said...I kinda think Ai can pull through, at least with her disillusionment with Kaede. I suspect she's seeing Kaede's penchant for simply saying & doing whatever she thinks her partner for the moment wants, but how she otherwise is strangely detached and unemotional. (Spotting her behavior during her job with that other customer, when she was all smiles, felt like a clear indicator how Kaede can just "switch" it all up at a moment's notice.)

But, if she suspects Kon is finally done with her, I think Ai might assume that she truly is unworthy of genuine love from someone else....and might "consign" herself to unhappiness by rejecting her own desire for Kon.

At which point....well, feels like an impasse that requires outside help.

Kon being Kon and placing the blame inwards. She thought she messed up by hanging up instead of blaming Ai for being unreachable. At this point the only person I'm rooting for is Kon. Both Ai and Kaede are selfish and only wants closure/resolution for themselves while Kon is letting the woman she loves go so Ai can confront and let go of her previous attachment to Kaede.

I have a feeling Kon and Ai will end up together out of obligation. Ai will feel like she owes Kon and will stay with her after Kaede dies or gets back with her husband.

What??? So not Kaede the crazy woman that left her husband eloped with her lover and promised a double suicide with her before disappearing? God, she even tried to kill Ai just now. What logic is that?
