Okay the prince looks like a total jerk and the "villainess" looks more like the main heroine than the OG main female protagonist... At least in MOBUSEKA the prince looks like the main romantic target from a Otome Story and it was in the duel that his stupidity is exposed.

Here the prince looks like the obvious entitled pompous royalty villain... Hell even in the Canon story of the game he send bandits to the "villainess" AFTER defeating and EXILING HER!! Jeez that punching low...

the fatal weird thing is that the fact that the crown prince himself sends random assailants to murder villainess who is somehow depicted only as someone that is nagging rational things (instead blatantly unlikeable), is known to players.

that wouldn't make him likeable as capture target for a simple otome game wouldn't it?

it's a weird setting. typical of villainess story where the author won't even try to make things subtle, and instead all out in making the supposed capture targets as dickheads, and the supposed villainess likeable from the get go.
