Honestly the author's tying themselves in knots to justify all the antagonism toward the protagonist while simultaneously having every character contradict themselves.
It's not even that they're simply being hypocritical--it's more that they're all braindead. The Armored Princess' exploits are clearly widely-known, hence her universal epithet, and while she's literal royalty, everyone treats her like she's beneath them, as they go on and on about "nobility and social status"--in a setting where that's supposedly a nonfactor--and then try to decry anyone who would use the same argument against them.
It's a very "have your cake and eat it too" sort of writing, and it's like all of the rules apply in two directions for the sole purpose of creating an assembly line of villains for the protagonist to deal with, who are both aware of her power and ability and yet seemingly certain that she won't wield it against them.
And it becomes exhausting to read, as a result. Especially because we get entire sets of chapters like this that are just setting up conflicts, where it's almost entirely the villain of the moment going off on a monologue that is frustratingly obtuse, and when "Consequences" finally do happen several chapters later...it takes like 3 panels, is over, and then we repeat the process with a new person who should be aware of what's going on, only they apparently have either selective amnesia or are convinced that they themselves will surely get the upper hand over this girl who 1v500'd an army and also destroyed the academy's super powerful magic ward and solved an impossible magical technical problem that had held for centuries.
I want to like this series so much, but every character outside of the protagonist makes it almost a chore to read, coupled with the page count and how long it takes to set up and then complete each incident.
It's like reading a Tarantino movie with 25 minutes of build-up, 15 seconds of action, except it's broken up into 3-minute segments that take several months to get through. And, with none of the hot lady feet.
But, thank you for the TL.
