I feel like his little sister is either going to be a massive & overbearing brocon, or a proper & malignant antagonist for him and his own person (not-romance) story arc.

I really hope it's the latter because the former would be tired as all hell and would take away from what's already going on with Nanao & the Heroines Three.

But I also know better than to hold my breath.

Glad Amane got some wind in her sails, though.

I'd be happy to avoid brocon (it's already a bit busy)
Nanocchi apparently is switching from victory on her route to the harem here. (I'm not sure he is really emotionally connecting to Amane here, but she kept herself in the running)

I'd actually posit that he specifically is connecting emotionally with Amane; just not through a romance lens, but a deep friendship one (from his perspective).

He's clearly very invested in her person and her situation, it's just that he's ...arguably intentionally shut off to the concept and sentiment of romance, for various plot/backstory reasons. But he's got significant platonic emotional bonds with the Heroines Three...which is part of the problem, from each of their perspectives.

But I don't know what to make of Nanao's actions or mindset here, beyond her stated reasoning (which, could be truthful, though I don't know if it's the whole truth). Could be she really wants more allies in the fight to break him open and make him wake up to romance, or she could have deeper goals that explicitly involve the Three in some longterm goal.
I guess we will have to wait and see.

I'm hoping the Lil sis will be an unreachable but supportive person, acting as a sort of undercover wingman for her bro. Kinda like tsubomi from mob psycho

I don't know about the LN but my expectations for this are to leave the other haremettes behind because they act like trope girls, thus I don't really care about their backstory beside an introduction.

If it just goes the way of a typical harem with an MC that remains just as stoic as the others even with a proactive girl, then I'll just read this whenever is done.

i dont see how the school or that teacher has so much authority over her modeling job when highschool isn't even compulsory. if anything her parents should be then ones since she is a minor

Japanese schools have that authority in the sense that many of them either outright ban students from having jobs or require permission from their parents and the school's administration, and the ones that do allow it often have strict criteria, too. They want the students to primarily focus on academia and club activities.

Part of this is also because Japanese schools are deeply protective of their "reputation", and view (and expect) their students to be something akin to representatives. This is one of the major reasons why Japanese students wear their uniforms while commuting to and from school, while also making them easily identifiable in public (and to school staff, authorities, etc.), establishing community trust, etc.

Anyway, even though sensei there is strict he seems like a decent chap, even supportive of her so long as she passes her classes. She held up her end of the agreement to pass her classes to continue modelling, and it's not a bad thing. You never know what the future has in store. Someone in a hypothetical similar situation could eventually end up getting injured, or be unable to pursue that kind of career in the future, and making sure they at least have the foundations of math, science, language and history under their belt helps prepare them for alternative routes to make a living when they graduate.

Not like I'm wholeheartedly excusing asian school culture though, there is definitely some issues with it, especially the hours and often insane expectations that border on torture in some instances. Compromises like the one in this story though aren't so bad, though, and benefit the students too. It's not fun being ignorant, unable to do simple calculations when trying to get a job, for example, or having a reading/literacy level on par with middle schoolers while you're 20+.

Everything in moderation and all that
