Now that you mention it, yeah, they escaped, and one of the targets die for them to escape. I vaguely remember Amy realizing that only the game didn't turn her invincible, she came to realize that they could die for real, and that changed all her views, raising her despair which turned her into a Witch.

So I guess my memory of Allen shooting someone was not the prince.

I don't really remember about the joining of countries and Central being too strong, all I remember is that they were fully unified, since Amy brainwashed everyone pretty much with her new powers.

As you mention, the Kingdom was at war against another country, and now they are being counter attacked by those guys and Ramsllet, and my impression is that it was kinda like Germany at the end of WW2: Multiple enemies invade and try to get whatever they can get, although I think that the King didn't die, nor the Kingdom fell in the end, but they were pretty done after that.

The Central Kingdom was a shit anyway so every other country hated them. Being strong is probably not the correct term to use but the brainwashed people are basically zombies who attack without logic and this is why they became dangerous and the invasions of other countries failed multiple times after Amy turned into a witch. The brainwashing was so effective since Amy believes that they're fighting for her and casualties just doesn't matter for her.

For the alliances, it was more of temporary I think, this was also done as a political move since Ramslett was planning to become an independent country anyway, this for the other countries to legitimize their claim and help them fight against Central. One part that I remember is that one country acted as bait (and they almost lost before retreating) so Ana can cover the entire capital with ice and remove the brainwashing from the army and civilians. Remember that they didn't want to kill innocent people since they still have friends over there.

On the other hand, as some people are saying we're basically nearing the climax. We're all misremembering things since this ended a long time ago. Let's just wait and see how the manga adapts the rest and enjoy the ride since this series is short anyway lol.

I think my favorite part is Ana's armor is actually somewhat functional, and not boob armor that seves to flatter her figure and is otherwise completely nonsensical.

Just a nice thing to see in manga when so often, in general, fan service trumps everything else. (I know this series sorta takes itself more seriously than the average, but, still giving props where they're due.)

So had to LITERALLY brainfart the heroes just to avoid a "why don't you just SHOOT THEM" for the Heroes since "War won right there and then!" You have the WITCH, you HAVE the Prince, and you have his entourage! What more is there to do! SUE FOR PEACE as the King can't afford to lose TWO of those losers! But NO we have to make shit convoluted! I can SEE the idea for the escape, but it REALLY shouldn't have cost Allen and Ana to be stupid in order for it to happen! I enjoy when HEROES and VILLAINS escape less because the other side had to be STUPID for no reason and more because of something that the OTHER couldn't have seen coming! I still remember spoilers! Though fairness, there are some CHANGES (like Ana's Cursed Sword having relvence PAST the point where her fate as a Dark knight was AVERTED. And add MORE into WHY the Duke walked into an OBVIOUS trap which wasn't explained too much in the Novel! I did like that as it added onto HOW he and his family were killed in the OG story so easily! He sadly was out of touch with the King he KNEW that he COULDN'T have seen his King's dishonorable actions coming! I mean the Prince should have been a hint because of his actions which were somewhat the SAME in the OG story as it was here! Arranging Ana's Gangrape which thankfully was AVERTED in this timeline and kidnapping! That could be seen as HIM acting alone behind the King's back! He had to SEE for himself that No, the Crown Prince's behavior was a HUGE indication that it wasn't "something that slipped the cracks" he was as he was because he was "immitating his enabling equally as bad FATHER!" Thankfully the Second Prince LEARNED by watching the fools NOT to copy them!)

So things might be different (especially the end fate of a certain Witch! I will say NO MORE on that! Curious how it will go as it made sense for the Novel, but Manga, you can't REALLY go that far.....I will be SHOCKED if they do though LOL)

A perfect example is Saga of Lioncourt. Mc wants to lower enemy morale, so what does he do? Goes behind enemy lines guerilla style, murders farming families in cold blood, including their young daughter who just woke up to her bloody parents and is pleading mercy. And, some other things he does, torching a church with humans inside, hunting human slaves like wild game, cutting down shepherd kids after tricking them to come help. And well, of course, rape too. Probably a few other things I've forgotten.
Usually it's not THAT bad, I dropped Oversummoned, Overpowered and Over it! while reading the arc where the mc decides to take revenge on the bad guys at the bad guys castle. But an innocent bystander couple, an old guy and a young girl who just happened to be there, are hiding in a closet during the rampage, and when the mc finds them? He just decides to off them too while at it, because why the hell not..

At that point, "how is this guy the Hero again!" Even Anti Heroes the GOOD ones have a code (something Punisher Extremist and the Edgelord writers who FORCEFULLY make Frank a Bad Guy against his personality and code forget! Frank has made it clear if he EVER harmed or worse KILLED an innocent, the next bullet will be for him! He's interesting BECAUSE he doesn't want anyone to follow in his footsteps! Any of his JABS at Matt/Daredevil is the classic "Hero vs Anti-Hero" thing that "Maximum Carnage" arc in Spiderman/Venom touched on when faced with a JOKER type villain. But otherwise Frank has LINES he will never cross that they keep FORCING him to cross for what they THINK are interesting stories but they end up falling SHORT) so can't REALLY think they'd cross those lines! For Anti-Heroes those who do might as WELL fit that OTHER Opinion some have to them (That their just VILLAINS with extra steps)

Even then I do have a dislike of Rape just being used as a device disrespectfully so even SOME cases of bad guys doing it might make me walk. Specifically if the Villain is doing it BECAUSE! The one GRACE of Kickass 2 the MOVIE was that the actor of Red Mist/The Motherf#$ker is that while a fan of the comic and the character he was playing, even HE found that scene disgusting and suggested the "comedy moment of him not being able to DO the act" as it does keep that the MF was being CHAOTIC yes, but as in his character "he can never COMMIT" to the role he's trying to play! At least we watching were SPARED that tasteless scene from the Comic (which was alongside OTHER tasteless scenes like the murder of children! LOL)

I hate it when Bad Guy's who never showed SIGNS of being like this do it for no good reason....is the same as when "The ball" (Conflict, Villain, ETC) gets played for no reason. And I HATE that ball when used pointlessly and it WILL pull me out of immersion since a Major Character is acting WAY out of character or "being TOO much unlikable!

(And by JOKER LIKE. I mean Villains making Mass graves for no fucking reason! Batman writers BIGGEST mistake was up-ing Joker's Kill Count and trying to make ARCS about his killing! Some like The Dark Knight movie did a good job in questioning the affair! Others do it badly and make BOTH sides look stupid! The "Batman shouldn't kill" are PAINTED out to be cowards who won't do the right thing to save people, IGNORING the fact that it's actually on the AUTHORITIES then Batman to judge and handle the Criminals! That's a HUGE hit to the "Batman should kill" which in the Nolan movie was represented by that one guy on the Ferry who made that BIG SPEECH only to CHOKE out at the last second cause HE/Those fans can't practise what they preach, the Criminal throwing the remote was to show that "it's obvious Joker was NEVER going to let ANYONE live and all they'd be doing is playing to his fiddle! Might as well DIE in defiance, and funny enough. Joker LOST when neither blew themselves up and "what do you know he had a trigger like ANYONE with sense would guess! You don't PLAY the game with Nutjob Chaos lovers like the Joker! You aren't winning, at least not playing means you give them a middle finger regardless of if they win or not! They should make this easy. Cut off one hand of each of them (the dominant one) and offer to keep them alive for enough reparations from each family as well as overall surrender from the kingdom. As soon as they accept, you would go to the handoff and ensure their parents are there and block off all escape then as soon as they are reunited, execute the parents for their crimes and leave the children without any support, no skills, no money, and a missing limb so they can't ever bother you again

Not just somewhat, it is actually functional!
What seems to be the hatched part is likely a maille (chainmail), which is the next "tier" of armor above the commoner's gambeson (thick linen jacket). However, no one realistically wears linked metal ring-sheets directly over their skin, so the common practice is layering the mail over the puffy gambeson, hence why her arms look kinda puffy. You got the protection against cuts and thrust from the gambeson, and even more protection against cuts from the mail.

And finally, the metal plate on her torso. Metal plates are the most expensive and advanced armor you can wear on battlefield, let alone a decorated one like what she got. Common plates are used by the basic city guards or knights, while the ones added with extra hammering of folds and shapes as decoration are nobility's vanity bragging rights. Considering her family's status as a duke--a mid-high tier medieval class--who had been in a falling-out relationship with the kingdom, the use of "mid-tier" mail with torso-only plate (still decorated) is something that believably reflect their nobility yet rebelious status against their "boss" king.

The only nitpick I can pick up really is just the lack of basic leg protection. It's just pants. Then again, she didn't really look like intending to go to the frontlines, so I actually can sympathize with the feeling of having to wear your best to the prom, but still lazy ahh to get out from the bed.
