8.2/10, i added this to my playlist when you shared it over a week ago.
Nice. Which one did you like more? The OG 1998 version or the remaster 2009 one? I can't decide, both singers are really good.
would've gotten a higher rating if you used the better version by Touma Kazusa though
I've heard it before, but I've been trying to stay away from listening to it too many times before I get to White Album 2 lol. I already lost the impact from the songs in White Album 1 by listening to them over and over before even starting the game. :lul:
7.4/10, it grew on me as the song went on. the chorus makes me want to do that rotating arm move that Yachiyo does in the Apocalypse Hotel OP:
This one also has a 1998 version, you should check it out. (not a entry)

Do you like Huey Lewis and The News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

8.0/10, this song helps me be in touch with humanity.

In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.

8.4/10. TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSIA NOW, YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARD!!!!!

it's gotta be Touma > OG Yuki > Remaster Yuki for me

ah yeah, it was the same for me when i listened to Ashita ni Nattara... for three weeks straight and then tried to watch the show

This one also has a 1998 version, you should check it out. (not a entry)

Resisting the urge to post a death metal song and get eliminated :haa:

I stopped posting for fear of being eliminated by the next song 🤣🤣🤣
you could always take Banana's advice:
Just go through his old music tournament threads he was in and grab a song he posted himself.

i'm still disappointed ideology doesn't have its own sound track.
free Rimworld advertising? you and @Dverin_Oshiban_Duren might get along (though his fixation is with Lord of Mysteries). 6.9/10

It's probably a bit redundant to pick a mili song especially one made for library of ruina though it isnt included in library of ruina itself.
it's interesting how she's just telling a story, the lyrics aren't really sectioned at all. also, this song starts in the middle of the story (a dishonest tactic often used to push a narrative). there may have been a totally valid reason that the singer was put on a train and had all her hair shaven. 7.2/10

Its a retelling of the Japanese occupation and cultural genocide of korea during WWII. specifically a retelling of the story and poetry of Yun Dong-ju a korean poet who died while in captivity and is famous for a set of poems written during it. The collection was meant to be published under the title "The Sky, the Wind, the Stars, and the Poem", I will note that Library of ruina subtitle "book, librarian, star and city" is inspired by it.

Course the underlying theme of oppression and the pointlessness of it all remains applicable to almost every single culture since there is practically none that have eliminated it.

Also what do you mean starting in the middle of the story?

oh, that's actually kind of cool then that the song has a history like that

i wouldn't describe oppression as "pointless", as there's an obvious purpose behind it. it basically goes back to tribalism being integral to human nature. the point of oppressing another party is to avoid/prevent being oppressed yourself

Also what do you mean starting in the middle of the story?
i was half-joking, but i meant that the song is only telling us how the 'thought police' came and took the singer and put them (and others like them) unwillingly onto a train to reeducate them. it's framed as though the thought police regime is unequivocally the villain for oppressing and reeducating these people, but that's because it's being told by someone who was 'oppressed' and 'reeducated'. but perhaps the thought police is only doing what's necessary to avoid civil unrest or the like. we don't know.

yes im aware it isnt "pointless" its very useful tool in preserving existing structures of power that avoids fundamental reforms or changes.

...anyhow I guess this is just a tad more touchy culturally given i find it a bit uncomfortable to frame it that way given the actual history behind it.
But that would be ...cherry picking I guess would be the closest term in this case?
