okay so i know this is probably too close to political talk but good god im taking an economics class right now and i want to strangle half of the class while repeatedly shouting "PEOPLE DONT FUCKING GENERATE THEIR OWN INCOMES IT COMES FROM THE PEOPLE WHO HIRE THEM!"

For some reason whenever they talk about poor incomes they act as if its a result of them simply not producing enough its so fucking bizarre to see this from people who are apparently supposed to understand and interpret economic data.
I can also tell that half of them have never worked a minimum wage job because they say shit like "if the government were to raise minimum wages we would see workers fired" like the average company hiring at minimum wage isn't already working with minimum employees already. And when I ask them about a evidence source their source is 3 decades old and says in itself multiple times high lighting areas where it employment rates didn't fall and saying minimum wage shouldn't be considered the universal factor.
