Now that he's made eye contact with Emu, he'd better have the guts to say "help" rather than let this lead to a misunderstanding or just go with the flow and end up saved.

Also, Emu will be sitting on an imperial throne-level cuck chair if she doesn't do more than just say "Stop it!" to this girl, to the point I lose hope that the mangaka has the guts to advance their relationship in a proactive way. The rape itself doesn't offend me, rather, the implication that maybe Emu won't react strongly enough because "succubi just do this, and he's not her boyfriend [yet]". I don't want a whole drama about the new girl being charged with rape, I just want her to think "oh shit" next chapter.

As for this other girl's long prospects... Even though I'm usually a major fan of harem/polygamy romances, I don't like harems in manga like this where there's an established mutually unrequited love couple starting from chapter 1. Especially since the new girl doesn't seem to have much personality yet (visually cute, though), and readers will probably dislike a non-virgin heroine anyway (in my case, I'm perfectly fine with girls who are "virgins to being in love").

Considering the layout of the chapter 1 color page and how many guys are apart of the cast I'd be very surprised if this was a harem manga instead of a story with multiple couples.

chapter 1 quite literally states the following though, in regards to how their traditional nature fits in the setting:

it does not mean that all succubi will follow suit necessarily, of course
but it does mean that the society does not tolerate them not doing so (otherwise there's no need to adapt)

so, that's what the author themselves set up, but of course it remains to be seen whether they have consistent worldbuilding to begin with

I think it's maybe I was a veteran in the Koi to Uso trenches and I'm already dead inside, but you guys have to be prepared: this author likes somehow worlds with set rules but won't explain the exent of the implications and will drip info whenever they feel like the audience might start to question the internal logic, and just coming with an explanation on how some the succubi of this world act is an example on how they do things.

Maybe they like to keep it secret for dramatic effect or maybe they just don't realize the hole they dug themselves in, but this is a staple and you should get used to it if you want to keep reading.

Also, there is a possibility this could turn into shitty Scum's Wish. Just saying.

First experience with the author, but if you're saying there's precedent for post hoc world-building and writing out storylines on the fly, then I guess tying myself in knots to give them the benefit of the doubt is unnecessary.

Unlike most people in the thread, I don't think it's such a reach seeing a succubus doing something like this despite the exposed lore. What I wasn't expecting is rules to be broken this hard this early and by a supposed friend of the FMC no less. Which makes me wonder if there is going to be a change of tone of the series, play it as a joke like some other shitty ecchi do or do the he is a gentleman pushing her away and she will fall for him and ignore the rape attempt. My bet is the third option with hopes of this girl getting a severe scold at the very least and her learning the lesson, that would be a nice change of pace for once.

This manga early on made a point to flaunt how there were in-universe laws that dictated how these demihumans behave, so I’d like to imagine that she would face legitimate consequences—even if not to the extent she realistically deserves—for attempting to rape yui.

I’m not sure how it would impact the story. In a more serious work, this would completely destroy emu’s confidence, as she would feel like her chances of getting with the mc after his traumatic experience with her own species (and her alleged friend no less) are even worse.
She might distance herself out of the notion that he’s disgusted with her, and although he might be fine with the idea of emu making advances towards him, he might harbor some reservations towards her and her powers that he doesn’t fully understand.
As a result of the setup from preexisting chapters (such as the exposition at the start, the truck advertisement, the horny classmate, etc.), I’d like to imagine that this is the path the story follows. They’d use this event to work through succubus prejudice in a mature way that evaluates how people view/treat them in society, eventually culminating in emu being validated that their feelings are mutual and not built on lust.

In a lighter romcom, it’s more probable that the rapist “friend” disappears off into the night or it turns into a “misunderstanding” and she simply gets chastised by emu. Maybe she’ll be reprimanded by the succubi council(?) or whatever group they have, since there’s apparently a hierarchy. If the manga was really dopey they’d keep her around use her introduction as an excuse to flesh out mc’s twink friend to set her up with as a side plot.
Maybe she redeems herself, but it seems like she’s a creature of pure spite. That’s a waste of time that could’ve been better spent developing the main couple.

Being on the cover means nothing about her status within the narrative, other than she plays a prominent role.

And even then...she's a hot JK succubus. The inherent sex appeal alone can be enough to put her up just to get people to pick up and start reading, regardless of whether she murders children or whatever.

There is this little thing called tone. If this were a raunchy over the top manga then I would have no problem with what was going on. But so far the tone of this Series has been a very serious and down to earth one. It's like the difference between watching a comedy and serious political drama. What flies in one won't fly in the other. Let me give you an example to make what I'm saying clear. Hitting someone over the head with a hammer. In a comedy that's just a moment of slapstick that immediately gets brushed over with no consequences or harm. In a crime thriller that would kill someone and probably be the murder that the cops or detective are trying to solve.

If anything, the lack of repercussion for the attempted rape would be the most realistic representation they could come up with.

I disagree, your example is an extreme measure to justify your view on tone. The very first page of this manga states "I am a succubus" and I could give you a point if this topic never came up again but that is not the case here. The demoness theme is always present, I suggest you chill and enjoy it as it comes, I doubt the author would make Emu brush this off like it's nothing because she's not that type of character and she's well aware of what is happening. There is no room for misunderstandings one way or another: Succubi seduce and men get seduced. Feels rapey? Learn more about fantasy and check again.
