The only possible way for the author to walk this back AND have Shinobu and Sakura stay together without Sakura being a secret slut is if this entire sex scene and playboy kissing Sakura was just a dream but chances are VERY VERY low that this was a dream.
The "best" ending for Shinobu is if Sakura comes clean, breaks up with him and Shinobu gets with Fumi however, the more likely ending is that, regardless of whether Shinobu finds out or not, he will stay with Sakura because this is their grapara.
Honestly at this point I just want that blonde bitch to get BTFO, the one who keeps trying to get Sakura into her agency, playboy can fuck Sakura as much as he likes, as long blondie gets cucked out of Sakura joining her agency.

Okay, I've run the numbers. Here's a graph showing the estimated first-month physical sales for each volume using data from the Shoseki Ranking:
It's not great, but it's not terrible either. I thought it'd put up numbers closer to Guilt Circle, but it doesn't even come close to the juggernaut that Guilt Circle is. Here's the same graph for Guilt Circle for reference. I made it a while ago, so it only goes up to Volume 16.
Now, back to this series. The total first-month physical sales across all volumes come to around 41,470 copies. From my experience, overall sales tend to end up around 10 to 20 times these first-month physical sales figures. If that's the case here, we're looking at roughly 414,700 to 829,400 copies sold in total, which is pretty good.
So, based on these numbers, it doesn't strike me as a commercial decision. The author could probably keep the series running for as long as she wants.

Makes me wonder how much of a change will happen now? Finding out how popular guilty circle is is surprising but if you noticed the author changed who the love interest is. Did guilty circle really changed the love interest? isnt it just for the arc because you didnt see the fmc at all till now? i guess if we see the fmc she will be the love interest again
Sort of they aren't really a couple at all now though at least in a romantic sense I don't keep up with it as much as I use to so things could have changed but last chapter I read he successfully saved the new girl from a rape so at least there's that. But with the way grapara was sold and set up ntr baits to keep you guessing will he be stolen or not is no longer viable as a plot device so either they switch to glasses girl and do the baits with her throwing sakura to the NTR cuck wolves or keep them together with her sleeping with the fuck boi behind his back plus him leading her around either way the story falls into degeneracy that is just porn and better suited to be in a hentai format.

Yeah, GraPara is kinda trending down, and we can see that Guilty Circle is definitely trending down too. The thing is, though, my Guilty Circle graph only goes up to Volume 16, and the series is already on Volume 20. So while we don't know what kind of impact this "event" in the story will have on sales, I'd say it's still pretty sustainable.

By "development“ I mean that Sakura will actually have to face the consequences of her action. She will have to realize that what she did there is something that can never be undone. And it’s going to eat at her. Maybe she’ll drown herself even more in pleasure because of that. But she’ll have to accept that this is her fault and no one else‘s. She made the decision to go to his place. If the relationship falls apart then it’s entirely because of her.
I don’t think Airi can just brush it off and pretend it’s not a big deal. I think that the lack of consequences for Sakura is what will result in a drop of readership.

Oh I know. I‘m convinced that the dude and his blonde bitch will try to spin this in a way where Shinobu is the bad guy.
I will be surprised if sakura faces any kind of negative consequences at all I'm not even sure where the romantic part of this story goes from here and I don't think the author has thought that far ahead.
I'm surprised she received any negative backlash on X I don't think it will have any impact on her writing of the story though but we should see in 10 or so chapters how many fans tuned out by then. I in it for maybe 4 more chapters but if it goes full on ntr degeneracy I would get rather bored fast
I see a lot of people talking about guilty circle sorta confused which I don't blame them it's a terrible series (besides the art) so I'll clarify some points on it and just give a summary of what's happened so far.

[Guilty circle started with fmc and sister as main focus. The fmc does the infamous ntr for her locked up sister with villain while the mc bangs some hoe. Fmc told sister dead. After this the couple basically breaks up. At this point they're completely seperate imo. There's like 2 volumes of mc and the new fmc idol arc. Then we go back to fmc who's been planning revenge on antagonist, her and mc work together, fmc bangs antag but it was bait and gets him in jail. Fmc ends up in recovery. Apparently sis was locked up in some cell because she refused sex and still is(??). Long backstory arc on the sister and side characters. Then a long arc where new idol fmc is doing a concert with heavy ntr bait for like 12 chapters. Last second before her first stolen mc interruptus and villain dies.]
Based on the jp comments majority of jp fans basically started hating for the opposite reason of this chapter lol. Since the fmc was heavily resisting and doing all the ntr standards they expected some result after basically an entire arc of ntr bait. With fmc saved jp fans were all disappointed and of course the purist fans left way back with original fmc ntr. So most of them see the manga as declining hard now.
What's the takeaway: authors should just do the ntr early and stick with it or don't do at all. I think grapara issue was it tried being both ntr bait and romance.
Trying to get two completely opposing crowds is already bad, but then it does neither ntr or romance well and instead just tries an anticlimactic quick random cheating arc here.
I suspect maybe this volume sells well for drama then the series will die out prematurely and get axed.
With ntr fans and purists fans dropping the only route now is just characters banging to scrape for the jp degens leftover that'll buy volumes for the uncensored. I don't really know how you could save the series atp without ret conning this ngl.
So yeah my final prediction: I'm guessing about 2 volumes left at max so like 20 chapters. I doubt sakura will face anything bad, it'll probably just be an arc of each character banging randomly with little plot after this. Mc dates fumi-> breaks up after a month and fumi bangs around with sakura's guys-> childhood friend bangs the fat director finally.
Then series will get axed with some bittersweet sudden ending where mc is single but can't stop watching sakura jav videos while reminiscing on their relationship(and it'll get 100 spin off doujins by author).
Such a disappointing series all around even to a degen(me kek).

Well the romance and whatever they thought was comedy is dead and now this is a hat the author will be known for. Seems she has done something along these lines in everything she makes. Unless of course the author goes with the sakura was raped rout that seems to be the cope excuse. Found her X account most comments seem critical of course you have the degenerates out there to but most seem to be unhappy with sakura character change.

Well, even on mangapocket the chapter is being heavily critiziced, karami zakari lasted half this work did so, from now on, either Katsura Airi tries to patch things up or it will tank her numbers and if possible future works.
