IruHyun bros, we have never been so fucking back. I used to pray for times like these. It's warms my heart deeply seeing Iruha so locked in securing Sanghyun lol, extremely cute. Seeing it from her POV, it's clearer than ever its not just a merely a fancy passing for her with how much she thinks of him. Seeing her stupid smirk after seeing Sanghyun contacting her and her promptly bashing a poor emergency door to let out her emotions out is very fun.

I gotta thank song theatre for not falling into common tropes once again, fem!MC could EASILY fumble the bag and put oil into the fire by answering Iruha's question wrong and easily prolong the will-they-won't-they dynamic. But she didn't and is 100% a great wingwoman for her/himself lmao, even if it means sacrificing looking like she treats himself (Sanghyun) like an asshole to Iruha. (If anything that might stoke Iruha's heart for him even further!)

Iruha's life seems to be on the upside too, the new company's staff seems to be very hospitable (a little too much perhaps even?) towards. a far cry from her previous work relationships with her managers. Plus, she's still keeping in contact with one of the Limu 99 girls. I can't wait for the penultimate meetup between the two of them. Mayhaps next chapter we can see both of them? Don't really see how though, Ruha is at her new company and MC is at parang -_-. but a man can dream can he?

Despite MC's great wingwomaning of IruHyun, looks like they completely fumbled everything else though. Yoil and Izumi made up for like, a solid 5 minutes before promptly going back to square one again, poor girl didn't even have time to tell her anything. At some point it's better to just fess up on everything rather than keeping secrets bottled up you know? Sanghyun also ticked Iruha off for saying he works at parang now too...

Corporate sure took their sweet time to give male!MC an official job though, at least he doesn't look like a bum that is wayy out of his station no longer. . Looks like the gift are a pair of perfumes instead of bathbombs. So we'll probably seeing quick-rapid TFs from now on, looks like it's perfected? I'm betting on the transformation not wearing off after some time. But hey, looks like we get to see all the Trainees get introduced to Sanghyun even though they're all v familiar with the MC (in Yoil's form) at this point. Going to be fun seeing characters we are already familiar with introduce eachother despite them all very acquainted with each other already.

I don't watch or read a lot of idol media besides Perfect Blue (a similar concept with an idol suffering from self identity due to the system) but I'm gonna lob a free throw and predict the ending since I'm picking up the vibe it might go down a similar route that To Be Hero X did.

Sanghyeon / Yoil officially debuts, probably does a lot of press photos, modeling shoots (PR stuff) and garnishes a lot of attention. This fuels Jeong's contempt for Yoil which has been building up for the last few chapters and she discovers Yoil’s true identity. Yoil gets exposed for leading a double life / being a man (from either Jeong, a stalker like in Ruha’s arc, or someone else), people are deceived and potentially angry especially since people absolutely love idol's personal lives for some reason. Sanghyeon has to give up the mantle of Yoil. But the identity exposure doesn't crumble Sanghyeon as a person because we've seen time and time again he truly pushes himself to the brink to achieve his dreams (getting nose bleeds by pushing both of his bodies too far, embarrassing himself by losing his masculine features). It forces Sanghyeon to take front stage because he literally has no other option left. Thematically it fits as well, because Sanghyeon’s characteristic is perseverance and the only way to demonstrate that is by breaking the character's comfortability and stability (we dub this, the Spider-Man effect). And instead of trying to rebuild Yoil or apologize for existing, he just keeps doing what he’s always done. Working, pushing, grinding, even if it means embarrassing himself or trying to win an uphill battle. He’s already proven he’ll go to the brink for his goals.

A side note as well;
The reason I believe he won't try to reclaim Yoil as his persona is based purely on his method of using her in the first place. It was never about a psychological or emotional aspect, rather a means to justify the ends. If he had become an attractive man, the story’s plot points would play out the exact same. His transformation was never truly integral to his goals. It was only integral towards his internal change. A catalyst rather than a closing remark (if the plot point of being able to transform into your past selves wasn't introduced, Sanghyeon would still be chasing his dream).

Towards the end of the story people finally see him. Without Yoil’s face shielding him, the raw effort becomes visible. The industry, fans, even the people who were angry, they can’t deny the talent and drive that was there the whole time. The persona and idol the public knew may have been “a false pretense”, but the work behind it never was. Yoil essentially “dies” or retires (and the impact of her death, figuratively and physically, will hit us hard since we've seen a majority of the chapters with Sanghyeon as Yoil), but Sanghyeon doesn't. He keeps moving forward and whether or not the world decides to move with him, he's pushing no matter what. I truly believe, even if I get this totally wrong, that Sanghyeon’s one defining trait and characteristic isn't Yoil, but his persistence and ability to change into a better person. Where the conclusion and theme of the entire story is not transformation but continuation through self assertion, where Sanghyeon isn't being changed or hardwired to be someone else but finally being seen as him. A very good ending in my thinking is Sanghyeon accepting that he cannot hide forever behind a more marketable version of himself. Not because being Yoil was worthless (literally the most integral part of the entire story is Yoil), but because eventually he has to exist as himself and accept whatever consequences come with that. It would put a nice little bow towards an overarching message on how idols change themselves and lose essential parts that make them them (and how that's kind of a bad thing).

Also looking back on Geukjang’s (author) other really really good webtoon A Savior's Time, where the theme and takeaway lesson is that escapism isn't a solution to your problems, I feel like this story is gearing towards a very similar status quo. We've seen Sanghyeon adapt and become Yoil in many ways, but Yoil is still and will forever be seen as a form of escape from the mistakes that Sanghyeon has made in the past. To truly come to terms with himself and his mistakes, escaping isn't the true answer. Although, knowing from Geukjang, the ending may be really bittersweet. Where the world doesn't actually accept Sanghyeon as himself and he never truly achieves his dream but still persists despite it all.

Oh and Lee Ruha is endgame.

Is it me, or did I get the impression that the kid wanted Kim Sanghyun to disrobe in front of him and dive into the water, coming out as Han Yoil? If that is true, then, nice try kid.
We now know that the CEO is quite aware of who Han Yoil truly is, and is Han Yuyeon's uncle. Which means that there's a good chance he knows Sanghyun's grandma and he's clearly the one responsible for all of the experimentations on the bathbombs and perfumes. What is that man up to?
Another question is how different is this perfume from the previous one? Will Han Yoil start remembering details of her past life? Will Lee Ruha be revealed as the reincarnation of her long lost love?

Also, Han Yoil, next time you speak to Izumi, just put the blame on Yuyeon.

So much info was thrown to us in this chapter. The debut dorm will be so ankward since literraly the only one Yoil can talk is Manager and Dorm's guard. Izumi? Doesn't want to see Yoil. Suryeon (if qualified)? Same as Izumi. Wonjin? I doubt Yoil will scare shit out and try to flee after few words. But that won't occur much since Yoil can now can go out as a Ploud Staff all day with the new perfume. We don't know what the enhaced perfume new effect yet but i doubt it will be stable in both mentally and physically, like can last long a week, even a month, prevent " Parang Murder Incident" from happen again. Hope he doesn't meet Soae in Ploud, she definitely suspect he's dating with Yoil

Guek set another question for me, Parang CEO (50+) have a 10yrs old son, so now what Manager Han(30+) called CEO? Uncle or Coussin? At any case i knew why Han YuYeon doesn't like him. Imagining every full family meeting only heard about works and work. An ancient family also are elites in modern society, that can explain why Manager Han can make such high quality medicine, Parang CEO with his power and relationship could easily bought/borrow an entire high tech laboratory and hired skilled pharmacist. And that also explain why first time he saw Sanghuyn he acts like that.

For Iruha, i agree with Singulo. How You Hui-na messages friendly with Iruha opened another part of Past Iruha . Maybe she do have friend, atleast bussiness friend in Limu9 and it only stop bcuz she got cyberbully.

Lastly, can't wait for next chapter, I want to know how is SangHuyn permisson, can he see other trainee Info, what the perfume effect...

Aww, it ended just before we could learn more. On one hand I'm happy because it gives Sanghyun more agency in the story. But at the same time, I'm having a hard time imagining why management would make this decision. It says 'Artist support team' does that mean he will be around the other trainees? Why make such a risk especially when they already know that Soae Park is a classmate of Sanghyuan.

Also as a side note, that small frame of Sanghyuan huddling in his little bath tub was really funny.

Man I feel sorry for Izumi, Yoil and Ruha aren't that close but she's right Yoil didn't need to fumble and tell such a bad lie. Just admit it.

I'm guessing the perfume duration has been improved as well. What a hero the cousin is though, he was really wanted to see Yoil.

Iruha's super jealous face is great, after she just left Parang, to find the one person she doesn't want near Yoil will be hanging around her more...well from her perspective anyway.

It may have been the easiest way to get him a job, he already knows the industry so a support role fits, that and its a role where he doesn't always have to be around.

Oh, hell yeah, Sanghyun arc let's go!

I am strangely very hyped for this.

That's an interesting take, and something I actually see happening. Yoil I've always seen as the analogy for the facade a celebrity wears to hide their inner self, and time and time again they do show it's more aspects of Sanghyun's real personality that ends up being her real charm. (His stubbornness definitely, ha!) So going that route could indubitably be a scenario where he loses his crutch, in a sense? Hopefully by then he'll be polished enough to face the world unfiltered, properly this time.
