I can never handle love triangles especially when both girls are awesome...
The good news is, you won't have to deal with a love triangle. At least, not in the way you're thinking of. As far as Itsuki is currently aware, the triangle he's facing is with Mirei and Narika. Neither Hinako (who won't understand her own feelings until the latter part of summer break) nor Yuri (who deliberately trips Hinako to those feelings) have even popped up on his radar. Heck, he even asks Yuri for relationship advice, the big dummy.

Nah, this has turned into a harem/love triangle. Time to drop this shit. I always hate it when the second girl keeps interfering with the main couple. I've endured the Tennouji arc long enough.
Waiter! There's a harem in my harem manga!

for a serious answer, my guess is it's down to something I'll call 'permitted characteristic deviation'.
Japanese media (specifically otaku media) relies heavily on character traits and tropes.
The reason you see a lot of manga have similar clichés in plot or in situations characters get themselves into is because the medium is generally (from my own observation) more cast-based than story-based.
The pull is that characters are set up to have their traits and recognisable (in a meta-pattern sort of way) connections to each other right from the start, and therefore they will act differently within each cliché (or the same if there's lazy/uninspired writing).
The problem is that this makes it quite difficult to change and grow your main character(s) in meaningful ways since they're the characters that initially get the readers reading, whilst side characters or losing heroines are almost 'permitted' more of this growth.
Obviously there are some amazing manga where the main characters develop and grow throughout the series, but to me it feels like a very awkward balancing act for the editor and mangaka between 'we need the main heroine to keep her traits/tropes otherwise she'll lose her appeal' and 'we want to make a genuinely good/meaningful piece of fiction'.
At least that's my view of why I think main heroines often fall a bit flatter than side/losing heroines, because side/losing heroines are almost 'permitted' to have their character develop and change more drastically and quickly over a single arc or two than the main.
Then it would seem to me that the development would be thrown out the window for the sake of the author's desired outcome.

I was gonna comment something like, "SHE'S ON THE ATTACK!" But apparently some isp's are blocking mangadex forum's and comments specifically in my case, and now I'm posting a comment talking about my isp specifically blocking these comment forums.

Seriously why the fuck did this turn into a harem? Why does every one of these stories HAVE to have multiple love interests? I think I'm dropping this shit. I already had to sit through him ten and it's dogshit ending. Why the fuck would you write different love interests when you have the main on the cover? Are people so fucking board or do authers not know how to write a romance story with only two people anymore. My advice would be to quit now cause it's gonna be a awful ending.

Because you choose to self insert instead of read. 90% of the time the losing heroine is a cardboard cutout of every other losing heroine. Often times the only defining characteristic they have is "They like the MC". It's fine to like a character, but don't delude yourself into thinking what is best for you is also what is best for someone else. There are layers to this, and half the time the losing girl is the least developed character outside of their crush on the MC. They have no real autonomy. No depth to their feelings. It's just "Ooh he helped me during my arc", but people don't see the big picture. They only see the "Flavor of the month girl", and not the FMC who has been developing naturally over time in a more organic way, and not drastically through their own individual arc but slowly over time. Their bond is the most natural and isn't some "Saved heroine #13734", or "Chf who chose to keep the relationship ambiguous until another girl shows up". The losing heroine usually maintains status quo, and lives for the ambiguous stage of a relationship and never tries to make a move until it is too late.
There are also enough cases when the FMC is arguably the Mary Sue of the bunch and basically has little to no character development. Most of the time, they are assured by the plot that they'll win because they are the titular protagonist and not because it is what is best for the MC.

I feel like it is pretty rare for that to be the case on any work that is actually worth reading.

Most of the time people form biases based on their own preferences, and essentially insert themselves as the MC, and instead of looking at it with an objective lense they are looking at it from a prospective that is "She is the best choice for me (who is being inserted as the MC)."

Often times in a series where there are multiple love interests (Like a harem genre series). We will see each "Heroine" get their own arc where each individual heroine gets their time to shine. They will shine bright during their individual arcs, but will stay at that brightness or in some cases fizzle out. While the fmc and mmc slowly shine brighter and brighter with each passing arc. People will pick and choose based on what their personal preferences are, and ignore the light that has been slowly but surely growing brighter and brighter as time passes. Then usually towards the end is where the FMC will have her arc, but the largest difference is. She is starting with a massive head start.

The self insertion and personal biases essentially blinds people to the natural development that has happened over time, and they think "Too little too late" when the fmc's arc actually happens. When the reality of the situation is she has grown slowly over time naturally in a less jarring way than the others.
