Earlier, Jinguuji lost his memories of Tachibana as a man. Now, he's giving up his memories of Tachibana as a woman. Even if he survives, he doesn't have anything left of them to remember. Which is why I think he's going to survive, because them both making it home and meeting for the first time again would be the perfect bittersweet ending. And Jinguuji being willing to give Tachibana (still a woman) a chance despite not having done so for any other woman can show that the impact of the journey hasn't left him.
