Hello everyone!!

Let me start with: this is not an official chapter. This is something I put together just for the fans.

In the past when a chapter had a scene that was flashback in the original series, I would point it out and show how the panels were similar (down to the strangest smallest little details). Well, Hyunckels entire early life is one big flashback and it was too hard to keep track of each frame or scene as it was being translated. So instead I've put together a special little treat - a chapter that has side by side comparisons of Hyunckel's story from childhood through the inevitable day he finds himself in Mystvearn's arms.

There are frames that are the same, lines that are the same, SFX that are the same, and sometimes entire pages are the same. Like the page where Hadlar confronts Bartos, even his foot steps out of the panel the same way!!

And where there are differences, like with Avan confronting Bartos, it's a switch in perspective (because Hyunckel is telling Bartos's story, but we're reading Avan's story). I am, as always, deeply impressed with the love and care that Shibata Yuusaku has put into drawing this series. These pages read like a love letter to the original and I did not want it to go unnoticed.

Thanks for that, Tahlynne! Awesome extra! :salute:
These comparisons are always worth reading, and an entire extra chapter of it is just amazing. Oooh, the nostalgia :glee:

Thank you for the amazing work.

I must say the old art aged quite nicely, it's clearly from a different century but I'd still re-read the original story in a heartbeat.

I noticed something interesting on page 36, with the panel of Avan grabbing his sword. In the original manga, he grabbed it in a forward grip, but in the prequel it was in reverse grip. That was actually a continuity error in the original, as that forward grip was followed by an Avan Strash, which is obviously in reverse grip (or at the very least it was an attack of some kind in reverse grip). The prequel rectified this with such a simple change in one panel, and I find that cool

I noticed that too! They've paid such careful attention to detail in this and I love it.
