Probably already said, because wow that is a lot of pages—but I feel enslaving Desmos is going to be how he manages to get the other slaves' freedom along with his own. I think he's trying to make her suspicious that his plan to get out lies in money, when instead that money is to go into preparations and whatever shenanigans he'll use to lure Desmos herself into a bout.

Also, the thought of genderfluid Fiine/Phile (Fiile?) is adorable. I should also get to fanfic I wanted to write once about Phile reconciling the mask of Fiine Catastrophe and the timid nerd person he believed himself to be and weaselly tried to hide behind, and his own genuine relishing of combat and the use of skills, even to a sadistic level, and coming out of it a better, more realized person, who has reined in the whole "sadistic murderer and rapist" thing that he first developed in response to uh, having to become a rapist murderer and gotten past it. Genderfluid could be a very fun resolution to the question of whether to have him go back to being a guy or fully transitioning as part of accepting themself...
