I feel like this whole drama is just because people thought it was being advertised as a yuri (it's not) and that the feMC is a lesbian (technically to be seen, but probably isn't if I had to guess?) This is literally just crossdresser x androphobe romance. This has BEEN done before plenty of times with stuff like Ookami Shounen wa Kyou mo Uso o Kasaneru.

This was never tagged as Yuri either on MD or by the official publisher, the overreacting by some people on twitter was caused by a description made by Mogura when the admin joked about it being "Yuri(?)"

It's an interesting topic because if I had to pick I would call it yuri. I think the yuri genre is less about the lesbian part and more about the fantasy of a perfect, pure and clean relationship that would be "ruined" by a stinky dirty perverted male. So it's about two women, but that's technically not a requirement.

I guess it depends on how much the manga will lean into the MMC being a guy. If he starts getting boners and such then yeah, I can see why all the yurifa_s would be dissatisfied but so far there's really been nothing here that a fan of the genre should be turned off by.

(I'm obviously ignoring all the insane posts projecting and trying to re-interpret this story as something it clearly isn't)
