IIRC he's not good at all at cursing or anything magic - he's just insanely strong and sturdy and that 'leaks' out in his aura. He wouldn't die even if you killed him. First time we heard of him was about him cutting down all the trees on an entire mountain while he was drunk.

Yeah, I thought it was a little weird quoting that, but it's specifically quoted in the raws. Like you said, I took it to mean he gets that from every yokai he's ever run into and that's his set response.
