Also a repost of my comment on previous chapter, reproduced here coz I can't stop gushing and that chapter's forum thread may have its necromantic days numbered:
I have to applaud Jaga's masterful craftsmanship and subtle showmanship in that last chapter (well she does it consistently previously as well, but it was especially impactful in this chapter). The show-don't-tell framing of ayano casually fixing his crooked tie while talking him down reinforces her possessive domination over him, over the typical impression of fussing intimacy an unaware observer might get.
Then in the taxi, her initial strong "call him!" (i.e. Their boss, to cancel the request for reassigning a different manager to her) were reinforced with her index finger pointing at him assertively straight, and yet after his vehement refusal, her confidence wavered, as indicated by her pointing index finger crooked slightly in withdrawal alongside her taken aback expression.
I really appreciate the mangaka's effort in emphasizing these small touches of parallel (or sometimes strategically discordant) signaling thru the characters subtle gestures, subconscious glances at contextually meaningful objects, and so on, which is especially enriched because many of the characters were themselves shown to be not just emphatic but also highly self-aware and introspective, which validates the extra meaning we glean from these body language signals, instead of this just being fanon overreads.
