Is there option to hide chapters by Official Publisher from Latest Updates?

I've done it a few times now, but I always feel bad when I block an official publisher. Reading uploads from unofficial scanlators is already in that weird gray area of legality and there's always that sort of pressure that I should read the officially licensed stuff (especially if the scanlator says it directly in their chapter notes)...

But when an official publisher does come by and has their links actually uploaded and I have the chance to read from someone that did support the author... Rather than finally supporting the author, I almost always find some reason to end up blocking them. They're too spammy / they're 3 years behind the current scanlators / they only upload the first chapter of each volume / they upload the chapters in parts when everything else has them in a convenient whole chapter that makes either of them annoying to read.
Official publishers are usually just this these days, don't feel bad about it;

Sometimes those take several pages in row, it makes browsing unnecessary tedious.
Several, yeah. I am in no shape or form kidding you right now- I've scrolled through 58 (!!!) pages of what seems 4 titles in total where "official publisher" is basically spamming entire website of their garbage site where- and that is just baffling- you cannot even read it as-is anything beyond first ~3 freebie chapters without paying. Please correct me if I'm wrong - which is very likely - but wasn't there a drama here a around 2019 about various scanlation groups posting chapters from different titles in exactly the same way, including links to their paywalled sites, and they were simply kicked out en masse for violating ToS? Why MD is allowing it now? Sure, I can (and will) block that spammer accounts but it really makes you feel like there are double standards.

MD should just add one link in the header of the title page to the english publishers title page and thats it.
the vast majority of these links dont take you to the chapter anyway but to the page of the title instead.
This would be my ideal solution too.

I think a lot of this nonsense could be avoided by putting a single link to the series in the official publisher site, just at the top of each title as a reminder people have a legal way to read it if they want.

If publishers want to let people know when they released the last chapter, then they should be doing what Jump does. This situation is just making people hating official publishers (even more) for something they didn't do and turning away. If this is a mangadex initiative to have publishers on their good side, this should have been managed silently, why punish the readers.

The problem is the bot gone senile, it just added Nue no Onmyouji chapters 1, 2 and 3 when the series updates on Sunday and it updated then.

We being flooded with chapter updates that were months or even years ago, series that been finished on top of just "updating" the same link. We blocking then for our sanity of not having our follow list now being mass "updated" of chapters that were released a long time ago by the official publisher.

There is no sanity check, if they are adding a series that have chapters 1-80 I would expect it would do that but its not doing that, its "updating" in batches, adds 5 chapters then hours later adds another 5 chapters ...

As far as I know, all the (current) outlink chapters (from all the different official groups) are being added through the account NotXunder, so instead of blocking groups, you can also just block a single uploader.

You are a legend. That works without me overfilling my block list with individual groups.

But man, why is Mangadex even doing this? Why do we need links to the official source for every chapter? I thought they had some partnership with the license holders for this, but I guess they're doing this of their own volition and it makes no sense. If they had to, couldn't they just add an "official localization" link to the main manga page? There's already the "read or buy" subsection.

They are the reason why my name is now stuck like this! I should have replaced mangaup with mangadex instead! If only I knew this was the doing of Mangadex...

I blocked several few days ago, it gets the job done, but today they appear again on my updates page. Did they create new accounts just to repost old manga chapters again and again? Isn't at this point this is just harassment? (Ik I can't say anything as they are the rights holder... But these manga can't be purchased in my country anyway and on their web it's unavailable to view anymore... Bruh)

I suggest trying to block the uploader account that the bot is using instead of blocking the individual groups. That should cover all the various official groups that were recently added and which will be used to add new ones as new chapters are released using the current bot (chapters from older batches won't be covered by this though).

If that still doesn't work, it might be useful to see an example of a chapter that did get blocked with an old filter you added before and another chapter that's new and managed to ignore your filter. And a screenshot of your blocked groups/users might also help.

All in all, we have a situation where social relations—private property in general and copyright in its current form in particular—are in direct conflict with society’s needs and directly hinder the fulfillment of those needs. What I mean is that, thanks to copyright profiteers, what was once the best aggregator of fan-translated manga is turning into crap.
There are two options, and one of them is to completely leave the legal sphere and move the site to the dark web.
Well, the second solution is a revolution. But, unfortunately, there isn’t a revolutionary situation yet, so the only realistic option is not to try to play by the cheaters’ rules, but simply to move to the dark web.
The problem is that keeping the site running requires money, which can’t be earned in an honest way on the dark web.

Mangadex has had these official chapter "uploads" for years.
