NGL, if the prince was really subservient and willing to cooperate, he really should have led with there being a separate force attacking the neighboring Countship even before they reached Van's walled fortress. Waiting the few days it took to reach it, and then the subsequent time to reorganize and deploy a second relief force is going to cost a lot of lives.

Fuck back-ups. Send in a squad of Valkyries. 5 of them at least. Maybe seven. (maybe 2 use swords and shields, 1 uses a spear, another uses a great axe, 2 use bows or something.) Let Arte controls ALL of them at the same time. Shit would be so epic. Nobody would ever dare make fun of Puppet Magic ever EVER again.
