There's no room for an Elven feast when they have so much revenge to savor

Even if the village chief had conflicted feelings about the Knight Order because of the death of his son, he couldn't let such a dishonor as the hero's walking away because of how their members were treated in his village go unanswered.

Now let's see the reward Soshie and the rest of his Elf Harem gets when they get back to base :meguusmug:

was it so hard to make these elves criminals?
Making laws that retroactively apply to actions that wasn't a crime in the past is hard to justify unless these new secular laws are based on eternal religious laws, and there isn't something like that in that story

That was quite unsatisfying for a resolution of mistreated FAMILY members

Is merely just losing their status enough? Even if they were shunned by the rest of the elves, I'd say they got off too lightly. Should be eye for an eye, sell them into slavery and give the profits of that sale to the MC and his girls. Or better yet, just have them serve as slaves to the MC, and they're forced to do all the dirty and manual labor for the entire Trickster Knight Order.

It was more venomous in the WN, he never revealed their identities to the families, made the chief put their families in the worst jobs (herb mixing) and tempted them constantly with joining the order in exchange for the taxing labor.

I mean sure... fire and sulfur would have been a lot entertaining, but this is long lasting
they can´t really do anything directly, so everyone just stepped back and away from them... like they became toxic for all intents and purposes, not even go back to 0, they better go away if they ever want to do or be something apart from toxic

seems good for me, like a slow burn revenge

let me see bloooooooood!

This ending is just like one of those movies where they just put what happened next in text in the credits, like those Bollywood movies “He later was jailed but released on good behavior” kinda shit.
Later on after the order does even more we get a few short snippets. Their families are sort of shunned and he's more or less forced to work in a medicine factory (I think that was literally what they called it), confident that if he works hard enough Gaikaku will see his worth and invite him in the future.

Folks here saying they got off too lightly...

I like to say that hell is real, and it's inflicted upon others by other people. And despair isn't the fear of death or anything as melodramatic as that. Despair is fear of living, anxiously anticipating what horrible things life has in store for you. And the hope that tomorrow will be better is nothing more than a delusion you use to comfort yourself. Even though you know it's a lie, it's the only thing that's keeping you alive.

Trust me, I know because I was raised by someone who was a borderline psychopath. You can do a lot of hurt to someone without ever leaving a single mark on their body.

I fucking lived it, people.

No I mean they could've made slavery illegal in the first place and it would be the exact same story with the exception of this moment right here. Even if I can forgive the humans for being a backwards people. I find it difficult to maintain the illusion that elves in general tend to be more progressive who would definitely outlaw slavery. That's not to say that " elves do no wrong" but I am saying " generally better then humans"( unless were playing like Warhammer). The author here seems to have written them as " pointy ear humans that like to live in forests"

So slavery is "illegal" but they didn't care enough to even enforce it? Wow, they're kinda assholes.

Did Hikume ever free the slaves he bought or are they still under his ownership? Because the only thing I can think of after that chapter is:

"They were sold into slavery by their families..."

"Oh my God, how morally bankrupt! This cannot stand!!!"

"They told me that when I bought them at the slave market."

"Eh, no hard feelings."
