What japan market on shonen romance now? Too many short chapter overall or axed
Japan is going through one hell of a down turn in quality lately. Either the domestic audience is just not interested anymore or we are seeing a surge in slop works. Probs been my all time low interest in romcoms lately.

This series had potential but god it just shot off the cliff so fast, I cant help but feel the author ran out of content after scoring a serialisation randomly.

I didn't have high expectations for the story, but ending it the way they did—right before it could have evolved into something greater—felt like a real letdown. I wasn't expecting anything other than a happy ending, yet—even having seen how cancelled series usually wrap up—this conclusion leaves me feeling like I wasted a part of my time. Regardless, I appreciate that it was brought to us, and given the number of series I follow through your translations I’ll certainly keep supporting your team in the medium/long term.

In fact this series had potential and could be on the Haruhi Suzumiya way of doing time travels/loops however imho it started from the ground compared to many popular ongoing romcoms. My references are Momose Akira no Hatsukoi Hatan-chuu; Houkago Kitaku Biyori; Tonari no Neko to Koi Shirazu; Kesa mo Yuraretemasu; Boku dake ga Shitterun daze; Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito; Tonari no Kurokawa-san; Konya Coin Laundry by Aimashou (you might relate it to Super no Ura since the leads are adults too). Someone Hertz & Futari Bus (I count these two more as a SoL romance tho) plus not on my read list Haimiya-san, Kakunaru Ue Wa and Ogami Tsumiki to Kinichijou

This series didn't get axed, it got sledgehammered!

Should have pivoted to the Kaede end if it was going to be this bad anyway. But it feels like this is more or less where the author planned to end up all along, even if it took a shortcut by tumbling down a cliff to get there.

Haimiya-san is a great read. I highly recommend you jump on it asap. Current arc is meh but I guess author had to add some trauma bonding to liven it up.

Eh was her health ever in any danger or not? From the end of the previous chapter it looks like she's on the verge of dying or something but in this chapter she just immediately jumps off the hospital bed like nothing even happened. Makes no sense tbh.

Ever since manga got any popular it's been the name of the game. Throw poop at a wall and see if it sticks. When you realize it it all suddenly starts to make sense.

Why romance manga is stalled by side content after the confession? Because quacks know nothing about relationships and can't imagine any further challenges besides that. They also want to prolong their current source of income, but I digress.
Why mangas like oshi no ko eventually get dragged down to dirt quality writing? Because they're written by amateur writers with high drawing skills. They don't have necessary experience and can't write things like character development even when their life depends on it.
Why so many shonens get a single system that basically tells you character's power level? Because it's easier to manage and balance your world around as an author. It takes away the complexity and potential your world could have had, but so what? You have no idea what you're doing anyways so of course duct tape solutions will last juuuuust fiiiiine.

Worst part is that frankly speaking I can't even blame them. They are a result of readers choosing what they read based on hype, premise, potential or the initial high quality "hook". Can't really make a living and patiently make a quality product if you're forced to compete with a 1000 apes churning out slop 99% of the time, but gold-painted slop 1% of the time. And then the ape readers just see the gold color and go apeshit...

I understand the axe this time. Somewhere in the middle of the series, it felt like no questions were answered but more questions piled up and it just became a tangled mess where every single character has different interpretation of the situation and nobody is aligned, thus nobody in the story can confirm anything without it being a contradiction to other's perspective.

You could say that the entire story itself is a self-inflicted loop about blind guessing trial and error

No, there's definitely only one way to make a triangle. Every point is already connected to every other point. There are no other options period, much less ones that would make another triangle.
