The real question is... why doesn't he just shag the cat? After all, as we all know... a cat is fine too. Jokes aside, I find it kind of disappointing how little he reacts to her turning into a human. There hasn't been one single iota of exposition, like "oh I'm a bakeneko" or whatever.

I hope she gets her magic back at the end.

@RobDog it comes from a prompt in a Call of Duty single-player campaign mission where you "pay your respects" to a deceased soldier by pressing a single button. The very concept of putting such a thing in a video game was so ridiculous as to ne farcical, and a screenshot from the PC version...

I think that the "indie game with programmer art" comparison below is spot-on. This manga's setting and plot are pretty stock and the art is pretty poor but there's nothing really wrong with it other than that, and it's a cute and enjoyable story so far with little drama. Certainly not 10/10...
