Shockingly the date went without incident. Let's see if Kokoro will stay true to her word this time, even though it's clear she's struggling with it already. Their breakup was almost too amicable for this series. There was some symbolism with the peacocks this chapter. Kurumi saw a brightly colored one, while the one Kokoro saw was snow white. Their perspectives on things just don't match up.
Plus, now that Kurumi is free to hang around Naoi, Kokoro could react very negatively to any perceived change in behavior Kurumi has, since she's still terrified of Naoi turning Kurumi into another Kudou. Kokoro still has this fixation with keeping Kurumi "innocent". I can only imagine how Kokoro might react if Kurumi gives the returned house key to Naoi as well. Or if Kokoro finds out that Kurumi plans to move in with Naoi after high school. Also, Kudou now being in their class feels like it would naturally increase Kokoro's paranoia about Naoi corrupting Kurumi, especially since having Kudou around could bring out some of Kurumi's harsher tendencies due to her jealousy.
Kurumi forgiving Kokoro so easily even at this point is pretty in character for her, I think. She tends to blame herself for problems rather than hold other people accountable. And the chapter did touch on the fact that Kurumi blames herself for agreeing to date Kokoro in the first place. Plus, even with all the things Kokoro's done recently, Kurumi isn't willing to let go of all the nice things Kokoro did for her in the past, at least not yet.
The girls that were making fun of Isanuma were the same ones she got into an argument with in chapter 10. The one with the darker hair is the one who said that Isanuma was full of it. And Isanuma sucks at keeping secrets if she was about tell the whole class that she went on a date with their teacher. I got a laugh when the one page panned over most of the relevant girls in the class, you know, those same kinds of scenes that are in competition anime to increase dramatic tension.
As for predicted twists, Kudou enrolled in their class. And we find out that her first name is Kyouka. Too bad we have to wait 2 months to see how Kurumi reacts. And I wonder if Naoi is really skipping the first day of the second semester or if she's just tardy and about to walk into a mess.
Kudou is very likely bringing some negative changes to their class. She might try to team up with Isanuma after realizing her grudge against Kurumi. Though Kudou is the manipulative type, so there could be a number of potential pawns for her in their class.
I'm looking forward to when the series resumes in May.
