it's actually a lot like what you said. Not getting into spoilers but the magic system is pretty complicated and it's more that gravity magic isn't respected among adventurers specifically. Well off people or researchers would use a more broad or powerful category of magic, like the magic evangelists use transformation magic to grant magic to adventurers by transforming part of them into that of one of the gods. Adventurers, on the other hand, are usually poorer and need to start making money right away so something that does damage right from the start is seen as better. If not, they'd just go find another job immediately. Neither of them would go through the necessary practice and physical training to get past the first gravity spell of increasing your own weight. Researchers do know about how gravity magic works, they just don't have the incentive to deal with it themselves.

So, yeah, there's no point in the mc being reincarnated in this one and it really won't have an impact as it goes on. The magic in this one is surprisingly elaborate though and is a lot more than just elements. ONLY having elemental magic is for the poor and weak.

I understand your point but the thing is most people is uneducated in this world. They wouldn't really think beyond the current effect of the spell.
