If Miyabi wants to get this done faster, he could use his newly gained connection of the Merchant Guild Master, buy land rights or whatever so he could get building on the train tracks, squeeze mana out of Karen as he sends the train over to the capital, pick up the prince at some point, get full approval, pick up Liz, keep squeezing mana out of Karen (and then the Prince) as they go ack to Angelum, and show that Miyabi won’t need to power the train if there’s enough people with mana to do it.

I mean, to be fair, it's not really all that useful as transportation if the only people who can use it are mega powerful mages. It has to be useable by people with normal amounts of mana.

uuuh... so seeing as he already got permission, why does he not just lay the rail before he got the "anyone can use it" propulsion ready? Then he could personally propel the train for his own (and liz) use.
Rather, still don't get why he bothered to ask for permission in the first place, or at least in a way that involved other guilds at all and not just "personal property"/"leased by noble for personal use"? He could still make a secret subway tho.

Also, that guild renewal system seems stupid. Like it might have some use, but in a world where people can't travel quickly, and additionally overall might be required to stay in a city for years (because travel is too slow to have any vacation long enough for it), why the hell does it expire so fast? How is the system setup for students and such normally? Since I doubt this is a very rare occurrence, but noone before liz has seemingly had it become an issue.

Also, why can't she just renew it in any guild, instead of having to travel to a specific one? Like, even if she doesn't start main'ing another guild, it should really have had systems in place to let you renew it for your real main, through a proxy.
...Or you know, renew by mail.

Was it not using enchanted stones? As in, no usage-requirements whatsoever.
I thought the issue was "I want this tech to be reproduceable by others, not only you", forcing him to not use stuff enchantmed at a level only he can.

Still can't figure out what the actual physics-issue is though, as all they really need to compensate is use more enchanted rocks. So those weak enchanters would simply just need to create more per train (which increases the production-time of each train, sure. But that was never a requirement). Once a train is built (or better yet, engine module. So they can be reused for new trains), it works permanently (that was why the engine needed to redirect acceleration to upwards and downwards when not in use, in the first place)
