Not a lot of sympathy from readers for the 7 year old servant, I see.
She's 8 actually, almost 9. Not that it changes a thing. The girl has been taught since before her baptism that the only way to survive was to become a blue robe mistress, so her entire point of view was biased from the start.
And the fact she was clearly a spy meant Myne limited her interactions with her, which didn't help either...

Eeevil Ferdi is a magnificent sight to behold :smug:

Really good paneling flow on display here. The anime lacked a bit of oomph on this scene, but the artist has chosen to draw out the right parts to keep the tension and energy at just the right levels

yes but the original plan that we even see happening in part 2 (specifically discussed in chapter 42) is that she will be adopted by Karsted.
The adoption was already legalized the moment she dropped blood on Sylvester's necklace in chapter 58. It's helpful because without that emergency contract, her words held no weight at all against a noble, and Ferdinand wouldn't be able to take action.

All the hoops they went through later (laundering her birth record as Karsted's child) was for the sake of appearance, as an archduke can't really adopt a commoner out of nowhere without inviting dissidence.

Scolding room? That is his private room not scolding room.

Myne was supposed to be Karstedt's? (Knight Commander) adopted daughter as part of the original plan. Signing the contract in the black gem now makes her Sylvester's adopted daughter, who is the Duke/Ruler of that land, and Ferdinand's (High Priest) older brother. Sylvester is also a blood member of the Royal Family, nephew of the King I believe.

Sylvester is not a blood member of the royal family. Maybe at best very distant since royal family mingled with many arch dukes not to mention the old ways let archduke candidates become king.

But he for certain isn't nephew of the king. There isn't even any known living nephew of the king, only a living niece who is currently an arch duke candidate of the #1 ducky

Why does Delia need forgiving? She's a victim here.

From their society perspective the grey priests have no rights. The moment she left on her own accord without asking, even her leaking information to the head priest she committed a sin worthy of death by their society. Not to mention taking Derrick without permission.

Myne simply absolved her of her crime but her taking such actions doesn't mean Myne forgives her. Not to mention Delilah trying to assist that Myne be taken by a foreign noble without asking Myne what she wants

Deliah maybe a victim, but even from our society point of view, Myne has enough reason to be personally angry with her

Myne's not from this society though, she's from our world and should be far more sympathetic in that regard. Delia is an impressional and desperate child being manipulated by authoratative figures. Myne's got no reason to be angry at her, she's got every reason to be worried and to want to protect her.

Sylvester:
I don't know where you got that, but the relationship is a lot more distant. 200 years or so ago, someone who probably wasn't that closely related to the king of the time became the first Aub Ehrenfest (Syl is the 7th). Some of the women marrying into Ehrenfest may have brought some more royal blood (like Sylvester's maternal grandmother, who, for all her fault, was still one of Aub Ahrensbach's daughter, and therefore possibly some royal's granddaughter or great granddaughter), but if one were to rank the Aubs by how closely they're related to royalty, Sylvester would still rank near the bottom.

I think you might be confusing Sylvester with Ferdinand here? Sylvester definitely doesn't have any direct ties to the royal family. But, Ferdinand does have royal blood and is a nephew of the current king of Lanzenave, which is a different country that has close ties to Yurgenschmidt and trades over sugar.

Because if Sylvester hadn't planned ahead, Delia's actions would have directly led to Myne, her retainers and her entire family being executed for what happened in the temple. Not to mention she broke Myne's trust.

Good intentions and being manipulated can be mitigating circumstances one can take into consideration when determining whether to punish someone, but that doesn't mean you have to forgive them for putting you and everyone you love in harm's way. You could argue that Delia deserves mercy; and she's given it by showing she means no harm to Myne by passing through the shield, but that doesn't mean she deserves forgiveness. This isn't like with Gil who refused to do his chores, this is Delia putting everyone on the executioner's block.

Both of them have made the decision to prioritize what they care about most above everything else. Delia chose Dirk, and Myne chose her family, friends and her retainers. Delia removed herself from that group when she betrayed Myne and put them all in danger. She crossed over the line Myne has drawn in her mind and she's not someone she has to protect and care for anymore.

Myne may not be from this world, but she has to live in it now; and she's adapting to it even if the readers aren't. She can't afford to apply the morals and ways of her old world to this new one, especially since she has neither the power nor authority to back it up. RIght now she has none at all as a commoner, and even as a noble's adopted daughter there's always someone higher up; be it other nobles or the royal family. You do what you gotta to do survive, and cutting off people who stab you in the back is one of those things you gotta do; not accept their apology and welcome them back into the fold.

Not that Delia has actually apologized yet, mind you.

...She could have talked to Myne, you know. Could've avoided this entire thing. But she didn't trust her, and this is the result. It sucks for Delia, but actions have consequences.

Talk and then what? As you said Myne had neither power nor authority, but more importantly Myne didn't know much about noble society right now.
She could try asking Ferdinand, but best case given his orphan status he'd be taken in as just mana supplier like Frieda.
And in Frieda's case her family manage has enough power to negotiate (+ the partner is kind enough to accept) for her living condition to be pretty good.

Also Delia at the time still trusted temple head because...well, she was never treated badly by him.
And up until the reveal, she really thought Dirk was set for a better, actual noble life.

Let's also not forget Myne knew about Delia being spy for temple head and thus has been keeping Delia out of some loops as well.

Something like this was NOT avoidable, because the primary target has always been Myne. Y'know, the attempt kidnapping in town earlier?
Delia/Dirk are just a side thing to all this.
