It's so cringey that so many isekai/harem slop authors do this with no self-awareness about how gross it is to fetishize that. And then the MC even basically says he has no issue with Allen being an absolute chum-bucket asshole, just that he upset the MC's oshi (Charlie).

The fact that this series also has rapidly degrading art quality isn't helping me get past the shit writing.

This is a pretty standard reincarnator trope when the MC is isekai'd into a villain or mob character: the counterpart reincarnator who ended up as the hero, and therefore believes that the story playing out as it does in the game is "owed" to them and that they are morally obliged and justified in doing whatever they can or want to get the game story path they want because of it. It doesn't matter of other characters aren't acting as they're supposed to and don't deserve it (the classic "villainess isn't being mean or evil, but the hero still tries to ruin their life because "it's what's supposed to happen" plot) or because the MC isn't an important or known character so what happens to them doesn't matter.

It was a fun trope the first few times it was pulled out because it was a subversion that works with "reincarnated as the villain" stories, but it's just used so lazily now because it's a shortcut to making an antagonist we're supposed to hate.

Was just thinking about how I wish that in one of these manga, the MC actually points out how the heroine is a person and not some object that they can bet/fight for

in a way, the MC is still treating the entire world of breathing, feeling people he's surrounded by as the game he played once, so....he sees Charlie as "a game heroine" and Allen as "the game protagonist"...he's not being an asshole to Charlie like Allen is, but he's not really treating her as a full-agency human person, either.

Generally, I'm not a fan of when love interests are fought over like they're property with no personal agency or autonomy.

Though what is refreshing here aside from that is how the MC's beef is definitely in his precious protagonist breaking the pedestal. And also, actually taking charge and announcing his feelings after so much dragging.

It took a while, but now hopefully he actually honestly and earnestly decides to go full "Screw it, this entire story is going to hell and I`m changing it" and not this milquetoast "Oh, I don't want to change the story, but also let me stupidly keep on changing the story, but oh no I really don't want to change the story, but let me change the lives of everyone involved. Oh no, why is the story changing".

And based on his inner monologue, it's fairly clear he was fully intent on getting NTR'd by the protagonist too, despite his hypocritical actions. So again, hopefully from here on out, he actively is playing for keeps now and isn't being wishy washy anymore.
