It's easy to answer a question about a theorem if you're the one who made it. :meguusmug:

I'm not sure what to think about this. The princess failed the magic test as per the principal's instructions. "Use any means necessary, and destroy the target from this range." Yet somehow, he allowed her to pass in this chapter. Was this a translation error in his instructions?
She did not fail the first test, you are misinterpreting what was said.
While you are correct in quoting the first part, you are missing the rest of the scene where he says it is fine for any part of her to leave the range as long as she doesn't step outside of the range (meaning: touching the ground). Eva also asks for clarification if the test ends as soon as the target was destroyed, and the answer to that is yes. She then jumps into the air from the specified range (fulfilling the requirement of not touching the ground) and breaks the targets (ending the test before hitting the ground).

It seems like there might have been some translation funk going on. He specifically says without leaving the range, for some reason? Presumably the targets would be hard to destroy without something that goes boom, therefore she would have had to leave the area to do it with magic cause of the spell blocking magic?
