to be fair to her, a lot of it isn't her hiding her feelings, but not really understanding her own feelings. it's why this realization came from someone else describing how she interacts with adachi to her.

I consider this moment to be one of, if not, THE best moments of the entire LN thus far, and I cant help but feel like it was a pretty watered down / underwhelming adaption of it in this chapter. I get that conveying a LN like Adashima in manga format is a difficult task to undergo, but still, it's just how I feel. For anyone who's manga-only and enjoying the story, I really recommend reading the LN extract of this chapter. It's honestly so, so good and this chapter doesn't do it justice. It's not a bad chapter of course, but the LN really is just on a different level for this moment

Actually, you can’t do without her. In the light novel Yashiro provides some EXTREMELY interesting information in Volume 8, and plays a central role in a later volume, Volume 99.9. The manga didn’t actually adapt the first chapter of Volume 8 in the light novel, and it seems it won’t be adapting the final chapter either. The reason why is because

the first and last chapters of Volume 8 are actually future time skips, which take place in the future. In chapter one, Yashiro tells Shimamura that she and Adachi are actually destined to meet in every universe. Then, in Volume 99.9, Yashiro makes a certain promise to Shimamura, which I won’t spoil since it’s too big of a spoiler.
