yeah, the court saw that nothing in the constitution states that abortion is a right... go read the constitution, im not going to sit here and argue random politics with you, im just stating the facts of the supreme court, you can go read the 14th amendment if you want, nothing in there includes a right to an abortion, roe v wade ruling makes it so THE PEOPLE can decide whether its legal or not, aka up to the states, the constitution only protects rights and each state can limit or unlimit whatever they want not related to that. i am not here to sit here and argue about every single supreme court ruling... if you want that, go to twitter.

The jurisdiction of a server is where the server is located, NOT where the company is located.

By your logic, if a company is located in America, but they own a server in Saudi Arabia, that server doesn't need to follow Saudi Arabia laws.

But that's incorrect, the server is in Saudi Arabia, so it must follow Saudi Arabia laws, even though the company is not in Saudi Arabia.

The same logic applies in reverse. If a company is in Saudi Arabia, but they own a server in America, that server follows American laws, not Saudi Arabia laws.

You have zero understanding of jurisdiction, or international laws.

idk the exact story of crunchyroll but yes crunchyroll WAS a pirate site originally and then they eventually decided to start paying for the content and making themselves a paid service legally.

The UK cannot pass laws that affect servers outside of the UK. That would violate sovereignty.

The UK tried to force 4chan to add in digital ID verification, and 4chan told them to go screw themself. 4chan won, the UK lost.

Servers that are outside of the UK cannot be held answerable to the UK government, end of discussion.

Even in a bizarre hypothetical world where the UK tries to violate international law and enforce UK law outside of the UK... MangaDex can just leave the UK. It's not difficult to just move the company to another country.

Companies do that all the time. Sony's PlayStation division moved from Japan to California. Companies are international, moving is not difficult.

So this has nothing to do with the law (UK or otherwise), it is entirely 100% MangaDex's choice. They are not being forced into anything.

case by case basis when it comes to "staff discretion" i've been in enough communities to know it just means "if i like it, it stays, if not, its gone" type of energy. if this was truly about "the law" it wouldn't be a "case by case" and would instead just be blanket across the board to set the standard for whats allowed and whats not.

to be fair with the 4chan situation, 4chan does NOT have any type of server, headquarters, or people in the UK and is purely based in the USA. i still dont think the UK should be able to do shit to them, but from the sounds of it, mangadex is registered UK but has servers located elsewhere, which would imply to some degree they have to follow both.

MangaDex is not just a random aggregator, it's a scanlation site.

But yeah this site is as good as dead since the "Great Purge", many groups moved to the few alternatives left or went back to self-hosted sites
