Adding to this, he can "speak" with literally anything. Not only with a language that you can have a conversation with, but also abstract languages, like stone and forest. I mean, how exactly you "speak" with an inanimate object or a concept of collective individuals(trees)? Not even he knows, he just... understand.

In the WN, it said the physical young forest onis admire Aqua while the magical young forest onis admire Eris. Shii is the weird case of being on the physical group, but not only she admire Eris, she also tries to copy her personality.

She actually only appears later in the WN. She makes a quite strange pair with Hokuto(?) of the alkey. Shii is a small forest oni that fight using a staff much bigger than her with Eris' personality, while Hokuto is a very big man that fight unarmed and aspiring to be a Ninja.

thanks as always for the translations! only really issue i noticed was on page 4: "there's no way fighting the demon clan is not 'no problem whatsoever'!"
with the double negative between no way and not, it would make it seem like he's agreeing with tomoe when he's definitely contradicting her. just getting rid of the "not" before "no problem whatsoever" would fix it up.

He's not a Human, he's a Hyuman that grew up under extremely harsh conditions, like malnutrition (due to lack of mana in the air); constantly exposed to harsher light, heat, and even cold than he could live with; and he had really brittle bones, to the point that if you trace the marks on his skeleton, where fractures have healed, you would find that he was crumpled up like a used tissue at least once.
The reason he can speak to everyone, is because he did get the Blessing from the Goddess, she just fucked with it, to exclude her precious Hyumans. He can speak any language, including completely dead ones, but not the one commonly used by the Hyumans.

Edit: So, fwiw, the light and temperature damage gave him the Hyuman equivalent of tough, leathery skin, with pockmarks, and ruined his eyesight. The bone damage stunted his growth, so he's probably half as tall as he could have been if he'd grown up on Bugworld. All that, and his "superior" Hyuman genes, left him indistinguishable from an absolutely average Human teenager, growing up in one of the warmer parts of Japan.

In a nutshell, a human-type hyuman.
Reject by the Goddess because it's doesn't fit her beauty standards, yet shown time and time again it is the strongest variety of hyuman.

on that note the photo editor app uses nanobanana 2 keys and works like it sends .5k/1k/2k (selectable res) cropped and varied aspect ratios images to the api and gets the same cleaned image back as a new layer. Pretty simple and has auto aspect ratio detection to make sure you can get most amount of removal targets within the same res to lower cost ~
1 bucks = roughly 20 edits. For some who do much more edits, paying 20 bucks for photoshop is logical!



and another note is i built a chrome extension to download raws that can download from sites that use gigaviewer, speedbinb, ciaoplus viewer modules (roughly all official manga sites), and then other blob and canvas scan features. I somehow turned into an overkill image downloader too and fancied up the ui too much
and then~ found out hakuneko exists to download mangas lol! wasted 3 months of work. Ofc integrated hakuneko to my extension again cause why not! Now integrating hakuneko typescript cause only alphapolis is being stubborn

It’s not that only Japan has 4 seasons, it’s that the other world only has one. They are trying to figure out why they are experiencing seasonal changes in the dream realm. It’s a lot clearer in the anime. It might also be because the snow chapters are so long ago that we can’t remember it properly.

I didn't appreciate that scene. Makoto was clearly happy when he could walk the streets for once without getting stared at like a freak. Every moment he spends in the hyuman society, he's aware of being considered an ugly goblin by every single hyuman around him, even if some of them don't mind it, let alone say it aloud, and are glad, even honoured to associate with him. But they would still consider him ugly. Now he got a kind of brief respite from that, yet his own people told him that it's better he remains ugly among his own species/race so that he won't attract attention.

I've seen a couple of shoujo manga where an antagonist guy tells his girlfriend that he likes stupid bimbos, so the girl doesn't need to study or think about anything complicated. This situation with Makoto vs his friends here wasn't that different from that horrible shoujo setting.

His two sisters didn't have the same hardships as him though so I'm thinking there was still something else weird about him growing up.
