So this chapter leaves out a crucial part of the novelization. On the top of page 7 (after Hikari admits she likes Yami), Haru and Yuki tease her and then immediately start planning how to get in touch with Yami. In the novelization, Hikari thinks:
Yeah, I can't stop thinking about her.
No matter how many times she betrays me. No matter how much she pushes me away.
Even if she asks me "Why?", all I can say is "I don't really know."
But Ta-kun likes her a lot, really a lot, and a lot, right?
There's no reason why I wouldn't be attracted to her, is there? Or is it weird?
Ah, I just don't know!
I knew Hikari was portrayed as the Light but she's starting to hit Jesus Christ levels of forgiveness. No matter how much Yami betrays or pushes her away? Someone mentioned throuple but I'm starting to think end game is Yuu/Yami with Hikari in a cuck chair watching.
Also of note, the author had this on his Twitter/X account:
Episode 48 has been updated. Things are starting to move in the right direction thanks to the Goddess of Light. No, really, this was completely unexpected... So, with that, I'm handing the baton over to the Goddess of Darkness here to properly steer the story back toward a twisted path... or can I even pull that off?
Love how the author acts like this new development was unexpected as if he's not writing the damn thing. Also, saying it's now up to Yami to "properly steer the story back toward a twisted path" is certainly making me apprehensive.
I'm starting to thinking Yami yelling about an idiot at the end of this chapter is really directed towards the readers.
