Are we sure this Haruka is the same one from the start of chapter 1 ? My initial thought was that the Haruka she asked them to take care of was the brown haired girl with her on the bed ? Which looks like a teenager to me. Couldn't be the daughter of a 20 years old.

Because if that panel is supposed to be "Rinka gave birth and asked her friends to take care of her daughter at the maternity ward" it's missing a pretty big element : the fucking baby ! Because the Haruka we saw in chapter 1 was pretty young, so there's no way she was anything but a newborn eighteen years ago.

Yeah and Haruka said herself in the first chapter that her mom went missing when she was young so Haruka must have been born in those 2 years waiting and then the friend going missing.

Also, why are his friends (supposedly a group of renown adventurers over 20 years old) dressed in high school uniforms here ?

Jesus, they are both speedrunning this shit, AND hacking it apart with an axe!

So I've actually read most of the WN, and it's all DRASTICALLY different.

So, first, he is told NONE of that backstory lol. I think his friend/sister's husband tells him she disappeared, maybe with a man? To stop him from trying to find her, because she actually disappeared into the dungeon to look for him. He did this, not in front of MC's sister/his wife, btw, because he very purposefully lied (and gets the shit beaten out of him by MC later lol for it) because he didn't want her to have that same grief the sister had when he didn't come back. MC and sister only had each other after their parents died, so she was absolutely devastated when, for all they knew, he sacrificed himself, and he didn't want her to have to go through that again.
There's still the question of Haruka, who I don't believe they told MC about her and Rinka's connection. It's very up in the air about who or what she is, but, and I don't remember if this was said in the manga, Rinka was the great sage that brough magic to the world's granddaughter, so it's implied some magical shenanigans. When the true story is revealed, either through a viewpoint chapter from non-MC's POV, or from telling him the truth after he gets hints that she's in the dungeon, I think I remember them talking about how her just shacking up with another dude was super OOC for her, so they're still not sure wtf is happening, but Haruka's existence was kind of the beginning of MC's sister getting out of her slump.

Also, the goblin swarm thing is WAY better done, because there feels like actual stakes, and I don't remember the magic gun thing, either.

The goblins rush out of a hole in the dungeon that even the narration says it's bullshit how sometimes random holes open up, because the dungeons are just magical nonsense that can't be controlled or tracked, and MC runs in to save some peeps. His protector starts getting her shit kicked in, so he runs over to the hole, legitimately FORCES it open while his nails tear off his skin, and his skin (and hair) burns. This is how he gets his hair cut in the WN lol. Then he gets his magic then just steamrolls everything, because MC was already cracked before he was stuck in the dungeon for 20 years, but after that he's just straight nonsense lol.

We'll see what they do with that in the manga, but honestly not holding out too much hope with seeing what they've been doing with everything else...

And it doesn't look like anybody felt anything.
But then again, this guy was in a dungeon for two decades and sometimes people just say things out loud.

If the virus or curse thing happened 20 years ago doesn't that mean it's only people who are less than 20-something years old who'd think men are extremely rare? I mean everyone would still have a father, right? Unless they're really young or conceived artificially.
Even so in a city of a million people there'd be at least a thousand men if the ratio is right.
