There's a way out. She's a retard for not reading the contract and spending all the money she get. If she just research what kind agency they are she would know that's AV agency not idol agency. Even the damn teacher know what kind agency it is. It's not like they're so obscure that normal people can't research what kind of agency it is. It's like clicking random item on shopping website and bought it without reading the description and get mad that the item you bought isn't what you wanted.
She should've known better. She's an adult. She should read what contract she's signing. There's no power imbalance here. AV agency doesn't have any power if she doesn't sign the contract at all. She willingly sign a contract and get surprised when the contract isn't what she wanted. It's not like they have different contract than what she signed in the first place. ultimately it's her own fault for signing that contract. If there's a rape the agency would be shuttered and people working over there would be arrested. Also it's not like all prostitute enjoy the sex even though it's their job to do so.
You’re reducing the situation to “she should’ve read the contract” as if consent only exists through a signature on paper, yeah ofc she would’ve read the contract or make some research about him or the company but real consent is more complex than that.
Yes, she made a mistake by not checking properly, but that doesn’t erase everything that follows.
A contract obtained through deception already creates a fundamental consent problem. She didn’t agree to what she thought she was agreeing to. Even beyond that, consent can also be compromised later through pressure, especially financial pressure that is created by the situation itself.
But when he approaches Yumeka, he never says he made AV actresses famous. He presents himself as someone who made idols successful. (Chapter 2 and 3). He also never explicitly states it’s a JAV company, when it’s actually an important detail of the situation and given that framing, the natural assumption isn’t “this is a porn agency. And I’d add, it’s easy to judge that information with the reader’s perspective, because we have all the information and we can analyze everything clearly. Meanwhile IRL, many ppl get tricked by scammers through misleading contracts and promises, not only in JAV or idol industries
Yes, Yumeka is a piece of shit in terms of her attitude and actions, and she deserved revenge (not that one imo and don’t ask me what she deserve, I’m not the author ahah). But beyond that, she’s also just a kid who wanted to become an idol, and that agent took advantage of her naivety and her dream to get her to sign that fraudulent contract.
Even the scammer himself starts panicking and says he’ll cancel the contract, and he outright denies wanting to push her into the JAV industry when Sakurai confronts him about it. (Ch 4). So no, this situation doesn’t just boil down to “she signed the contract” when the entire goal from the beginning was to deceive her into signing it in the first place.
And I’ll go even further, this is a revenge manga. Yumeka isn’t some major target like Makoto and this whole subplot simply isn’t developed enough imo. The story heavily simplifies things in order to make her really dumb to fall into the scam easily and move the revenge plot forward quickly.
That’s why reducing everything to “she signed it, so it’s entirely her fault” is not the good thing to do of how consent and coercion actually work.
Anyway, like for the H guy, who loves that part, I’ll say the same thing, if you think this in not rape like okay.. but if I can give you a advice, don’t ever do what that scammer did, because if it ends up in court, you’re probably going to prison for rape, organized fraud, and a bunch of other charges too.
Have a nice day guys
